We had the greatest time here! Our very first escape room was with Puzzle Effect several years ago, when we visited Bend. When we recently came back on vacation, we looked them up again and their new location is awesome! There were 4 of us - myself (mom), dad, 14 year old daughter and her 14 year old BFF. We did the Sideshow room which we loved! A little help and we escaped with seconds to spare. We would definitely recommend this room - so so so many cool puzzles!!! One of the best escape rooms we have done. A few somewhat easier puzzles and some pretty tricky parts, but most were right in that sweet spot of pushing you to the edge and then getting that AHA! moment that makes you want to do a little happy dance! We had so much fun we went back the next day and did "The Curse On The Emerald Seas" room. For us, this one didn't work out quite as well as the first room did. The puzzles were extremely difficult and none of us seemed to be able to "think that way" and logically connect the dots. We needed a ton of help to push us along and they gave us extra time, but we managed to finally escape. This room is for the true puzzle masters!! ‍ We realized we should have tried "Grim Stacks," but we were leaving the next day (and couldn't afford another 4 person room). Oh well ‍ Our next trip to Bend will definitely include another visit to Puzzle Effect! One of the best parts about this facility, compared to the many other escape rooms I have done, is the way they give you clues. I've experienced rooms where you have to ask for help (and feel bad that you need to), or where you can only ask for help so many times, or where the help doesn't really help ... The wonderful people at the Puzzle Effect really watch your progress and offer help at exactly the right times. Just when you are about to give up you hear that noise and POOF help appears in the magical mirror They start out by just nudging you in a direction you are missing, then they offer slightly more specific ideas, and if you still just CANNOT GET IT they help you enough to continue on. I absolutely love that their motto is "It's all about having fun!" They understand that it's not a lot of fun if you get so frustrated by a single puzzle you cannot enjoy yourselves! That will never happen! Plus, they let you take your cell phones in there so you can take pictures of your experience. I mean, why would you spend your valuable money and time just to cheat? They get that concept and you know that they are there solely to make this the best experience for everyone. We all left wishing we could do the rest of the rooms! We also thought it would be a blast to work there - and reminisced about the many times we knew they must have been totally laughing with us (and at us) Thank you Puzzle Effect for some truly EXCELLENT fun and awesome memories!
