This little cafe went in a few years ago, but I'd never been able to stop in when they were open. This time, they had just opened, so the hot food wasn't ready yet. They seem to have a good selection, and I was disappointed that I couldn't try a hot dog. Their current special is a Memphis dog, because of the Memphis Belle, of course. It's a nice place to take a breather from the planes. Well, I don't need a break from them, but just a place to refuel, as it were. And here, you can eat and still look at the planes. There is a nice balcony overlooking the Cold War hangar (and you can come up for pictures even if you don't eat, which I also recommend.) Out the other end you can see the missile building. There is, of course, an aviation theme, and a painting of a refuelling boom on the girder in the center. Plenty of little tables. Bottled drinks, and I think a fountain off to one side. Pizza, dogs, cold sandwiches, wraps, candy, chips, etc. There doesn't appear to be an elevator, but maybe I missed it. Three flights of stairs. Prices are decent; convenience-store level, but not a big rip-off. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The view is great. It's nice having a place like this back here, because the museum has gotten so big that even the Valkyrie Cafe is quite a walk from the newest building. read more
