Over the past year, with one project after another, Sanchez's Gardening has radically changed our yard (front and back) into something that some people have called an "estate," and others have said we could hold weddings here! The difference in the BEFORE and AFTER is amazing. Before, we had drainage problems in the back side yard and a weedy and useless slope; now we have a retaining wall, a raised flower bed, a large stamped-concrete patio, and proper drainage. Before we had to warn people walking in the back yard about not stepping into gopher holes; now we have a beautiful flagstone courtyard and walkways. Before we had a lot of plants and trees that we watered by hand; now everything is on a drip irrigation system! Pedro Sanchez was kind enough to recommend another local contractor to build a detached sun room and deck for us (a custom-built project), and Pedro's crew constructed the stone wall under the deck. They also installed a useful outdoor sink that drains into the open area beyond our back fence. Pedro listened to our ideas and concerns, provided suggestions and choices and methods, and carried out everything as we had hoped. I should also mention that at one point, we went together to an enormous wholesale landscaping nursery in San Ramon and picked out new trees and plants, which are doing wonderfully well. Not knowing much about landscaping costs, sometimes we would be shocked and get a second bid, only to find that other bids either were higher than Pedro's or did not include all that we wanted. In any project this large, it is good to have discussions and know ahead of time what is included and what is excluded in the estimates. Now every day we enjoy our beautiful, functional garden.
