I've never really thought of samosas as being anything other than appetizers. Yummy, but really just tiding you over until the main course.
Seattle Samosa has proven me wrong, bringing life to this wonderful Indian treat. And they turned it into a meal in its own right!
This trip I ordered two samosas: Spicy Chickpea and Spinach Paneer. The former is filled with a tasty garbanzo beans curry, and the latter the familiar Indian flavor of spinach paneer. These were then placed in a spicy potato curry. The curry is less saucy and more soupy, reminiscent of curries of the North, of Punjab or Nepal. Utterly scrumptious! And surprisingly filling.
My girlfriend opted out of the curry this time, and got two samosas, the Butter Paneer and the Spicy Chickpea. These were served with sauces on the side. She loved them.
I had my meal with their chai, which they brew there. A perfect chai. Not too sweet or overly milky. Really, just perfect. I even bought a bottle of their brew so I could make it at home!
We like Seattle Samosa so much, we've already been three times, and doubtless will be back many more times. It's now one of my top go-to Indian places in Seattle. Don't miss it! read more
