It was absolutely beautiful. One cannot deny that, but there were a few factors that left a bad taste in my mouth.
.) The AC in the room never really get the room (Rm. 37) cool when we were there in April 2024. It never got above 84 outside when we were there, so this is going to be a problem when it's 95 and humid this summer.
.) There was only someone at the desk from 9 am - 5 pm each day. When we needed anything after that time, we had to look for someone on site.
.) Being so old, it is not ADA-compliant. No elevator. With mobility issues due to a prosthetic right leg, getting up those stairs to the room on the second floor was hard. Likewise, for some reason you have t step up into the bathroom in your room which was also difficult.
.) The restaurant was not open when we were there. They suggested we walk down the street to a place called Cracker's. (We did and it was good.)
.) Not the hotel's fault, but there is next to nothing to do in Indiantown. I think there may be a golf course nearby, but that was it. We were there for the US Sugar steam train in Clewiston, an hour away. read more
