It was absolutely beautiful. One cannot deny that, but there were a few factors that left a bad taste in my mouth. 1.) The AC in the room never really get the room (Rm. 37) cool when we were there in April 2024. It never got above 84 outside when we were there, so this is going to be a problem when it's 95 and humid this summer. 2.) There was only someone at the desk from 9 am - 5 pm each day. When we needed anything after that time, we had to look for someone on site. 3.) Being so old, it is not ADA-compliant. No elevator. With mobility issues due to a prosthetic right leg, getting up those stairs to the room on the second floor was hard. Likewise, for some reason you have t step up into the bathroom in your room which was also difficult. 4.) The restaurant was not open when we were there. They suggested we walk down the street to a place called Cracker's. (We did and it was good.) 5.) Not the hotel's fault, but there is next to nothing to do in Indiantown. I think there may be a golf course nearby, but that was it. We were there for the US Sugar steam train in Clewiston, an hour away. read more

Brunch at the Historic Seminole Inn is one of my favorite ways to start a Sunday. Albeit, it's a decent drive to Indiantown. The food along with the hospitality are well worth the drive. This historic Inn is rich with history and the charming ambience offers a comfortable and relaxing vibe. Brunch is a quintessential array of breakfast and lunch items. Moreover, the options are not overwhelming. Some of the featured items include: an omelette and waffle station, carved meats, a salad bar and a wide variety of fruits and muffins. My favorite item is their homemade sweet potato casserole. If you're a fan of fried chicken, theirs is fried to perfection. Coffee is constant because the wait staff is on task and eager to assist. Alcohol isn't on the menu, but they will happily provide an ice bucket if one opts to bring champagne for mimosas. The Inn offers a nice rear patio along with a great front porch to include rockers. Additionally, one can tour the upstairs to absorb some of the history. Reservations are encouraged and the prices are modest. read more

The Seminole Inn is located in Indiantown located about 30 miles west of Palm Beach. It was settled by the Seminoles in the early 19th century. The tribe found the dry land ideal for hunting. After the Seminole Wars White settlers came to the area in the 1890's. During WWI the Army Corps of Engineers dug the St. Lucie Canal. In the 1920's Indiantown was developed when Baltimore Banker and President of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, Solomon Davies Warfield arrived. He planned to make a model town that would serve as the southern headquarters of his railroad. He had a school, houses, and a railroad station constructed. He also had the Seminole Inn built in 1926 as a focal point of the town. It was designed by architect Henry Stephen Harvey in the Mission Revival style. The Inn's most famous guest was Warfield's niece Wallis Warfield Simpson who would later become the Duchess of Windsor. It is said that she was the hostess for the hotel's grand opening party. In the intervening years hurricanes and the Great Depression led to a decline. The inn was purchased in a dilapidated state in 1976 and restored to its former glory. It was was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 31, 2006. The Inn is filled with old Florida charm. The walls are 20 inches thick. It has a wide front porch with rocking chairs. The lobby has a fire place, hard wood floors, and a 12 foot tall pecky cypress ceiling. My favorite part of the inn is the second floor wall murals that depict the history of the Seminole tribe. The inn received a complete renovation in 2018. Today you can stay in one of the i22 guest rooms or have a meal in the restaurant. Sunday brunch with their famous fried chicken and peach cobbler is served in the Windsor Room while country meals are served up in the Cracker Cafe. The Inn's restaurants are farm to table since they grow and raise much of the food they serve. Whether you are staying overnight or stopping in for a meal you will not want to miss this captivating and historic inn. read more

Time for a little Southern Food at a Southern Spot. We headed to this Florida feast today for their lunch buffet. It had a salad bar, food bar and a desert bar. I had a salad and it was very good. The food bar had fried chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, green beans and carrots. They also had a breakfast station that made omelets and any type eggs you might want. The Ice Tea was very strong but good. The food off the food bar was OK but nothing to get excited about. The desert bar was weak. The Vanilla pudding and the peach cobbler were poor! The bread pudding was OL but nothing to tell your Nanna about. For the money and the drive I don't think it's worth it. The atmosphere was grea but we were there for the food and it was to much money for what we ate. read more

His personality is a key element of the Sunday brunch. I've been wanting to come to the Seminole inn for over 10 years now. Today I finally had the Sunday brunch!! You can feel the southern charm from the moment you arrive at the large front porch with rocking chairs, plants and decor. It's doesn't stop there several people greeted us before we were through the front doors. The lobby is so perfectly decorated to make it feel historic yet very welcoming. I'm fascinated by the pecky cypress ceiling through the lobby so beautifully preserved. We were showed to our table and immediately greeted by our waiter. Because it was our first time he gave us a run down of everything on the buffet and all the beverages available. I started off with the biscuits and gravy, famous fried chicken, sweet potato casserole and cheesy grits. It was all delicious and the fried chicken definitely gives them bragging rights! My second trip up I got a amazing omelette from the omelette station ran by Luis. bacon and sausage. My final trip was waffles and their famous peach cobbler! One of the most impressive facts about this restaurant is all their foods are locally grown and raised and you can absolutely taste the difference in farm to table menu! It doesn't matter how far you need to drive to check this place out it'll be worth it. Last but certainly not least this place as a great amount of Seminole Indian history and you can see it through the hotel and especially on the second floor of the inn where there is a mural timeline of the events of the Seminole Indians. Note: We didn't stay here - we just stopped in for lunch. We were driving around and came upon this small, charming town of Indiantown. Other than fast food, we didn't see many places opened to eat. Then, we came upon the Seminole Inn. The building was positively beautiful so we circled the block to look at it. It was right before they closed for lunch, but the young man (Jason) was so nice and seated us, then served us. The place is full of so much charm; spend some time looking around at everything. The lobby and both dining rooms were beautiful. The place was clean and comfortable. They have a nice buffet, but we ordered off the menu. We ordered a fried tomato sandwich. We're vegetarians, so we asked that any meat be left off - and they perfectly accommodated that request. It came with a delicious sauce, and some fantastic French fries. Jason was SO nice and welcoming and made it a pleasure to eat here. For dessert we had a delicious bowl of peach cobbler - sooo good. We were so glad that we stopped in here at this historic Inn. We really enjoyed our lunch and the friendliness of it was refreshing. I can't even find one thing to complain about!! When we find ourselves in Indiantown again, we will definitely stop in for another fried green tomato sandwich. read more

There are two dining rooms - upon the insistence of my father, we sat in the room dedicated to Wallis. Besides having her photos with Prince Edwards on display, I wasn't sure what else screamed 'dedication.' Service was awesome! Our poor servers. My father wanted to talk about Wallis Simpson whilst sitting in the Seminole Country Inn Restaurant. They were really good sports and entertained ALL of his questions/observations/remarks. The lay out of this place is pretty cute. Your drinks come in mason jars and each plate you get to go to the buffet is different... nice homey feel here. Food was okay. The best country buffet I have ever been to. At $9.95 a plate you cannot beat the quality and service you receive at the Seminole Inn's lunch buffet. I haven't had the Sunday brunch or anything off the menu, but I have never been disappointed so far. The lunch usually consists of two main meats, one portion varies (pork chop, turkey, etc) and the other, Southern fried chicken is always available. Do not skip the chicken. It is the best thing on the lineup - never dry, always crispy, and seasoned to perfection. There are a number of sides offered, usually a baked bread of some sort (biscuit, cornbread), veggies (corn, zucchini, collards), and staple southern sides (mashed potatoes, stuffing). Cornbread and buttery mashed potatoes are both must-tries. And surprisingly the roasted veggies stand out amidst the carb and meat heavy selection. There is also a soup and salad bar offered. Soups are also well seasoned and pair well with the cornbread and biscuits. I usually skip the salad bar to save room for the chicken, but I have had it before and it's not bad. It's hard to compare/compete with the hot bar. No surprise, but the drinks are good too. I recommend the freshly made lemonade or raspberry sweet tea, and if you like Arnold Palmer's try the two together. Service is phenomenal. Our waitress is always on top of drink refills and keeping the tables cleaned. The only criticism I could make is that they have a dessert of some sort. They usually have fresh fruit, but not daily. Pros: Quaint and homey! Filled with history. Fridge, microwave, & coffee maker inside the room. Comfortable beds. Accommodating staff. They do not serve breakfast but they provided us with vouchers so we could get breakfast for free at the cafe next door. I loved the activity room with movies, games, books, and the big stuffed bear! LOL Cracker, the parrot in the lobby, was such fun! She is so smart! Cons: There were some fixtures in the bathroom that needed fixing. It would make it look much nicer if that had been done. One star for the waiter and zero for everything else. With 9 a.m. reservations, no one was there to great us. And just let many people stand at the door waiting. They sat us at 9:25, late even though we were first there. Told us to wait to give our drink order until we could go to the brunch buffet. This was another 10 minutes. So at 9:35 the 10 of us were allowed to start making our way to get our food. At 10:22 a man approached our table and told us we had to leave because he had another reservation for our table at 10:30. People in our party were still eating. We informed him that we hadn't even received our checks yet. He left and yelled at our waiter. If you start at 9 and don't seat your parties with reservations until 25 minutes later, then this should have a trickle down effect to other parties. I had people here from out of state and the rest of us were all from at least 50 minutes away. The tactless man, who by the way never introduced himself or said his name,, was maybe the manager who made my whole party feel as though we were loitering and not worth as much as the next group coming in, even though we spent close to $300 on this brunch (including the tip). A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to the Seminole Inn for Brunch and were impressed with thier spread. It was an all-you-can eat arrangement for $13.95. They had a hot bar, a carving station, a waffle station, an omlette station and a salad bar with locally picked vegetables. They also made their own bread and left whole loafs of it out. This meant we were able to cut a slice to the thickness we liked. The selection on the hot bar included a delicious peach cobler, some juicy fried chicken, a sweet potato pie topped with pecans and toasted coconut, and green beans. Our server said they add in different specials each week. We washed down all the delicious delights with the BEST coffee we have had outside of Starbucks. Our server said it was a Colombian blend the chef had specially ordered in for the restaurant. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even the ones doing multiple jobs like the omlette/waffle/carving station chef. It is a good idea to get reservations if you plan to go after 10:30 a.m. We definately enjoyed the food and plan to go back again and again. read more

Went to Seminole Inn for Sunday brunch today and found the food really good, fried chicken was fresh and hot and very tasty. Luis on the omelette and waffle station makes an excellent omelette. The reason I gave this place two stars is for the service. Our server started off ok but quickly found himself too occupied with fellow staffers and chatting to even keep drinks filled. Looking around his area of the restaurant, there was a theme as every table had empty glasses waiting to be refilled. Our server appeared to have 6 tables at most and it's full buffet so it shouldn't be too tough to keep up with drink refills for that. Oh and by the way, when I could get some tea, you would think I had asked him to walk a mile to deliver it. So again... Really good food But the service today was poor at best read more

Yesterday, a group of about 8 ride out to the Inn to eat at their famous buffet. I'm usually not into buffets because of poor food quality, but this place is really good. The atmosphere is historic and quaint, but the food quality stands out. Great custom made omelette station. The mini waffles are out of this world. I could go on and on, but I won't. I will say that I felt compelled to say thank you for making the brunch memorable. I had company from Moldova and we rode all day. We had brunch here today with a large group and I will say I will never go back,The food was just mediocre the service was lacking no one ever cleared our dirty plates from in front of us. Take note that if you are in a large party you will be charged 24.95 a person it does include drink and tip but if you drink water like myself it feels like you are being ripped off, I feel like I did my home work before hand and checked out the menu online before we arrived and it does not say large groups will be charged more,When I spoke to the manager about the prices he informed me better luck next time, well there will be no next time!! My husband and I recently trusted the Inn with one of the most important days of our life - our wedding!! To say they delivered is understated! They made our wedding day an absolute fairy tale and went above and beyond to make sure the venue was stunning. You can truly tell this isn't just a money maker for them; the pride they take in making sure everything is just right shines through. When I first arrived it was a weekday late lunch time. The ambience is old Florida for sure with the both the decor and the building itself the place was not crowded so I took a seat there was only one person working the restaurant front area apparently the best day to come is on Sunday at brunch when they have a big huge spread I opted for the all you can eat even though it only had a few items. Deep fried chicken was excellent old school country cooking the ribs were fall off the bone absolutely deliciously perfect. Rice and gravy from the pork ribs collard greens with green beans cold clear ice tea totally perfect experience, which surprised me because of my first impression of the small all you can eat bar. I would definitely like to come back in the future on a Sunday and check out the whole shooting match. read more

Very cute and old style inn! Walking in you feel like you're stepping back into the 1920's. The staff is very nice and personable. It was our first time here and we received a cute little goody bag which was nice. The room was quaint, clean, and rustic which was perfect for the two of us. This "Inn" is fantastic. I came up here with a car club. About forty persons. The owner 5Th generation gave us a history lesson on the inn, Indiantown and the Everglades. She spoke with a lot of passion and love for her families place in Florida history and her love of the area. The brunch is old fashion southern Buffett. With an omelette/waffle station. Lots of fresh fruit and salad. But the fried chicken is where it's at. And the mashed sweet potato covered with corn flakes is so good I had seconds. Biscuits and gravy are great too. The staff here is amazing! They went above and beyond to take care of our very large group, resolving issues efficiently and graciously. Every one of the employees I encountered was friendly and helpful. Many times they provided meals for us outside of their routine service.
