A to-go Indian cafeteria
Came to this place to try some vegetarian Indian food. Came in shortly after they opened and scanned the menu QR code to put in my order.
Inside is very sparse in decoration. It's clean but in the same way that a hospice is. Staff were kind but not receptive. Most opted to stay in the back and not talk.
Food took about 30 minutes to make. They did just open so they were likely not prepped for the day. I took my pics and dug in.
The plate was not the most visually appealing. Continuing with the hospice theme, I got a cafeteria lunch tray. The peanut sauce was the highlight. Earthy, creamy, a little bit spicy, but a nice dip for the dosa. The other dips were lacking the same depth, they had some semblance of flavor but it really didn't have much to remember.
Dosa was thicker and not as crispy as I like. The fried chickpea donut and white bready puck helped absorb sauce and transport it to be eaten. The donut had a nice onion savory note to it, but the white bready puck was very generic.
Nothing was spiced or seasoned well. it was okay, but lacking. Combined with the decor and the staff, it wasn't the most successful meal. If you order to go, you may get a better experience. For me, it's just a bit too bland for my liking. read more
