The best little Catholic school on the hill in the heart of Cheverly, Maryland. I chose this school to educate and help raise my son for a full decade, pre-k through 8th grade. In those 10 years, that went way too fast, there was never a day after dropping him off that I worried about his well-being, safety, education, social interactions, Christian development, or overall happiness. The very reasonable tuition was money well spent. Would that these reviews had no word limits. I would go into depth about our experiences in each grade.
Everything begins with a stellar staff. From my very first interaction with the pre-k teacher and aide on my son's very first day of school ever, I was put at ease. From day one all the way through 8th grade graduation, I felt blessed to have found this gem. When we were there they offered hot lunch every day, before and after care, field trips, summer camp, CYO Athletics, a super fabulous science curriculum, and weekly Mass.
With hindsight now I can see that St. Ambrose prepared my son for the rigors of high school with its looming academic and social challenges. St. Ambrose helped my son become a better student and a young man who lives by the Gospels but never too preachy. He made lifelong friends and had soooo much fun while learning.
