From Alan's review

Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience at this car wash located in Evanston. From this experience, I have learned you cannot put reliance on a yelp review. Moreover, you should question the person doing the review and make a balanced judgement. I had seen this business many times in the past driving down Greenbay Rd and never had the feeling to come due to the ugly facade of the business. Next to the building, you will see this ghetto type used car sales area that doesn't match this northshore suburb. I could find those used car sales people on cicero and fullerton in the city but not Evanston. The used car sales area looks odd. Title for my review: Suds Car Wash vs Turtle wax. I will base my review on location, pricing, customer support, place of business, hour of operation and quality of service. Customer support: 0 stars Quality of Service: 0 stars Place of business: 0 stars Location: 0 stars Pricing: 3 stars Hour of operation: 4 stars On the LOCATION of this car wash business, you will discover for first timers the awkwardness of direction. You don't know where is the entrance or the exit. Greenbay rd can be such a busy street with traffic congestions demanding drivers to make instantaneous judgements. They should put large VISIBLE SIGNS DIRECTING CUSTOMERS INTO AND OUT OF THE CAR WASH BUSINESS. Am I going to see the sign with a quick glance of the entrance before some car rear ends me from behind? As a matter of fact, you will find the location of the exit in front of the building while the entrance can be found BEHIND the building. HOW ODD?????? So first timers be aware not to drive in the front of the building as an entrance from the busy oncoming traffic of Greenbay rd. THEY SHOULD PUT SIGNS DISCLOSING TO DRIVE BEHIND THE BUILDING. Furthermore, the streets are narrow behind the building and the roads are very bumpy. I give 0 stars for location. What is the PLACE OF BUSINESS? PLACE OF BUSINESS describes the environment of the establishment. Suds car wash has a business in an old WWII brick buildt building. How can I guess the age to be ancient without consulting ancient astronaut theorist Giorgio Tsoukalos? Easy. In Chicago, brick bungalows had construction around 1939 until the end of the 1940s. They usually have this dark reddish color as this car wash building. Looking from the inside of my mini van, you can see people sitting in old aluminum chairs and crumby looking vending machines surrounding a small cramped area of space. Inside of the building it looks crammed, not enough space, and crowded. The old building doesnt have enough customer space. I give 0 stars for place of business. As for the HOUR OF OPERATION, I can say they have longer hours on weekdays from 8am to 6 pm. Now I know why some people like it. People don't have time to get to the car wash between 9am-5pm because of work. They have hours extending until 6pm. I personally believe they should open until 7pm waiting for all the 9-5ers for business. They have 8am -7pm only on Thurs to Saturday. I give them a 4 instead of a 5 because they can open until 7pm. As for PRICING , my response says one word " whoopiedoo". You can go to Chicagoland Carwash for $5.00 and save yourself the $10.00. I feel their price reflects the typical value for a carwash which would be between $12.00 to $20.00. I give them 3 stars for pricing. QUALITY OF SERVICE and CUSTOMER SUPPORT goes hand -in -hand with this written review. Last week, I made an attempt to drive into Suds car wash because Turtle Wax closed after 6 pm. Driving down Greenbay Rd, I couldn't determine the entrance of the Suds Car Wash and noticed cars driving out of the building from the front view. Thus, I made a logical decision to drive into the back of the building finding droves of cars towards the entrance. Backstreet was bumpy and narrow. As the first car drives into the entrance, I see a young girl clearing up her clutter inside of her mini-van hogging up 4 cars of traffic. Inside the building, the worker made a gesture for me to move into the entrance of the building. I drive and suddenly another guy tells me to stop and backup my vehicle into the street. And he was yelling with alot of anger. I didn't do anything wrong but wanted to drive into the building and clear up the congestion in the street. This guy screamed at me and rewarded the young girl clearing the clutter in her mini van hogging up traffic for almost 6 min. If she has not prepared to clear her clutter in her vehicle hogging up traffic for almost 6-8 min, I should be the one to drive into the entrance of the car wash building. I know he will make a rebuttal saying " you had driven the wrong side of the street coming into the entrance." I will say " Why don't you make signs in front of the building where to go? " THATS THE MANAGEMENT'S RESPONSIBILITY NOT THE CUSTOMER. The guy yelling out with rudeness shows the business environment. I will take my business elsewhere. read more
