Not far from the North Avenue MARTA station, this artwork is visible from either side of the interstate as you're passing through Atlanta. Of course, keep your eyes on the crazy traffic in this city!
The tower was completed in 1996 and is home to the "unofficial" Olympic Cauldron. It is 105-feet tall and topped with a 20-foot tall golden torch. To avoid stepping on the "Olympic" trademarks, it is a centennial tower, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Atlanta hosting the Cotton States Exposition in 1895.
Stop by and check it out, or just wave as you're stuck with everyone along the highway.
