Took my laptop to TCS to repair the cracked screen (still functional, just couldn't see part of the screen), and they said they could fix it. After a few weeks, I called and they said my computer was now not turning on. I frequently had to call them to get updates on my laptop, and after months of no improvements, I asked for my laptop back to take it to another repair place. They returned it with no screen, the wrong screws in the base, and tried to hand me two different chargers before finding mine. My computer was unrepairable in that state, so I lost a $1,000+ computer from a cracked screen. I would have appreciated an honest approach by saying that they could not help fix it, but instead my computer was broken. They waived the service fee, which I appreciated, but this was trivial compared to the price of a new laptop.
