Grabbed lunch at The Chipper. Its off Pin Oak (across of BK and in the same strip as Cici's and Scholars & Scoundrels). It took over Maika'i hawaiian's space. Its very small and packed however we wanted to eat there to ensure fresh and crispness. It was busy, every table was taken and counter seating was half full. It was a bit cramped and a little warm inside. Ordered the cod & chips, haddock, and a scotch pie. Both fishes were fried to perfection and flaky. Im not a malt vinegar kind of girl so i ordered tartar sauce (extra charge) which was tangy and flavorful. Hubs liked the thick chips and we both preferred the cod over the haddock. The scotch pie looked dry but I thought it was well seasoned. Flaky and buttery too. They also have other traditional dishes such as blood sausage, haggis, mushed peas. Is it the best fish and chips I ever tasted? No, esp since I've had some stellar ones in London and in B.C. but I thought it was good. We will return when my hubs crave fish n chips or during Lenten season. read more
