I've been curious about The Sharp Notes. A record store inside Garden State Plaza? I love record stores and music shops, but with the age of streaming and downloads, I was surprised to see this spot set up in the mall. Pleasantly surprised, but it's just not something I expected to see there. It's one of the nicest and best curated music stores I've seen in a long time. There's vinyl, but also CDs, DVDs, Laserdiscs, etc. (a variety of physical media). Plus record player accessories and well priced t-shirts. There is also interesting artwork on the wall (don't gloss over this if you visit). The shop has been open for a couple of months. When you go in, there is a newspaper framed on the wall that explains its genesis and how the shop came to be. The owner also has a podcast - The Sharp Notes with Even Toth. I recommend checking it out - especially if you enjoy flipping through stacks. read more
