The first night I ate at the Stackstone Grill, I had wonderful and efficient service. I ordered the barbeque shrimp and grits with fried green tomatoes. The grits were amazing - creamy and smooth. The shrimp and tomatoes were just all right. I typically find restaurant food to be overly salty, but I actually had to salt the fried green tomatoes.
I returned for another meal during my stay at the Marriott, and it was much less stellar. The service was rushed and spotty, and we kept getting pushed to order more drinks. Speaking of drinks, after ordering a mojito, my co-worker was told they have no mint. So, she ordered a margarita that was so weak, all she could taste was the sour margarita mix. Glad I stuck with wine. I had the Marriott burger, and she had the chicken quesadilla - both were typical of bar fare. read more
