The Thread is part gathering place, part coffee shop, part creative hub, and entirely centered around helping people feel seen, connected, and supported.
We were greeted warmly and with a free cookie sample. Everyone was very friendly.
Upstairs, the shop promotes thrifting as a way to reduce landfill waste and push back against throwaway culture. Downstairs, the cafecito serves delicious Cuban food and drinks, surrounded by local art and a spirit of connection. There is a 'Christmas Tree' in the back - at least, I called it that, but I was gently corrected: it's a place for people to voice their wishes and for visitors like me to come forward if they can make that wish come true.
The whole place is welcoming, thoughtful, creative, and full of heart. I love a good coffee shop with a good mission!
