Thipi Thai restaurant in Glen Ellyn (not connected with Thipi Thai LaGrange) leaves a little to be desired when it comes to their service. The "help needed" sign in the front window should have been a warning as there was just one inattentive wait person for all the tables at dinner on a holiday weekend. The drinks were forgotten and then when reminded, she got the order wrong. It would have been nicer if they had more staff available to accommodate the high-traffic times. Now, the food. The Thai Egg Rolls were underwhelming, as they were undercooked and left us feeling rather unsatisfied. However, the Crab Rangoon was properly cooked and had a nice flavor to it. The Orange Duck on the other hand, was an absolute delight. The duck was well-deboned, and the orange mango sauce had just the right amount of tartness to it. The Basil Chicken could have been cooked slightly more, but it still had a good flavor and tender ground chicken. All-in-all, Thipi Thai has prospects for improving their service, but their cuisine remains a mixed bag. If you're looking for something tasty, the Orange Duck is definitely an option worth considering. However, if you value good service, it may be advised to go elsewhere until they're able to hire additional staff. read more
