I have had only 1 stop in here when I met some friends one Saturday afternoon for a little day drinking and to listen to a 2 man band with one of them a kick ass Cajun fiddle player...
This place is located behind Lagniappe Steak & Seafood which is located in the hinterlands of Ascension Parish...meaning off of Hwy 22 right before you cross the Amite River Diversion Canal into Livingston Parish and Maurepas, LA...
To get to this little hidden gem you travel Hwy 22 and right before crossing the canal is a road called River Highlands...take a right and drive to the very end...you'll think you're lost when you run into the Thunder Bayou Marina, however you hang a right into a parking lot then an immediate left and squeeze between the marina and a fence and a postage stamp parking lot opens up....At this point you should still be like where the hell is this bar?
Park, get out and head to your right to this elevated boardwalk, follow that around to your left and as you step on the patio of Lagniappe you'll see the bar dead ahead...can't miss it as it looks like a big ass gazebo with a circular bar, half walls and great views of the Diversion Canal...
The drink prices are reasonable, they offer a decent menu of bar food which is made by Lagniappe...plenty of TV's to watch a football game or other sports, fans to keep you cool in the summer and a relaxing atmosphere...
If you're looking for an out of the way place to chill, day drink a bit and grab a bite if you're hungry this is a great location with pretty good views...If you happen to be on the water never fear they have a dock to tie up to so you can refill your cooler if it's running low...
If you want an off the beaten path adventure I think you'll love this place... read more
