I can't say I miss Time Warner, but I'm still not sure I like Spectrum. This isn't a review of the service, but of the service center here at Queens Center Mall. They have their moments where it operates just like TW, but there is some potential for awesomeness. Right now, it's still somewhat of a lackluster experience.
The good:
* Gone are the days of worn furniture, terrible ventilation, and the general DMV like feel. They've done a heck of a job renovating the joint. It's now clean, comfortable, and very modern.
* This location closes at 9:30pm. Most other Spectrum offices close at 7:00pm.
* The lines are non-existent an hour before closing. This is an ideal time to be here.
The bad:
* Service is very spotty. This could really be for any store in the mall, but seeing as this is NYC, you'll get some real bottom of the barrel types and some super efficient, excellent types. Unfortunately, the latter is very difficult to locate.
* Format is no good as well. If you wanted to pay for something but ask about new services or talk about current ones, you may need to line up somewhere else.
* For most of the day, this place is swamped. This means more waiting around and it's only decent if one can rock one of those comfy chairs.
* Slow. They have various people working different stations to ensure an efficient process, but it all boils down to how well those people can do it. Not sure how to make of it.
* Parking is mall parking. That's no bueno. read more
