On Saturday we went to brunch at this spot in Houston that everyone talks about. The place is absolutely beautiful gorgeous garden and great ambiance.
But when we sat down, we were told they had run out of fresh juice, cinnabuns, croissants... and honestly the list kept going. This was a little disappointing.
We ordered migas, burrata with bread, and a pastry basket.
* Chocolate croissant -- very greasy, a bit too much for me.
* Jalapeño scone -- really good.
* Blueberry muffin -- didn't love it.
* Migas -- eggs were good, tortillas greasy but tasty. The tomatillo green sauce was decent.
* Burrata -- bread was great, but overall felt like it was missing something.
Coffee was good, drinks were good (the paloma was nice). Service was okay . I know they were packed, but it took a while just to get water.
I had high hopes, and while it wasn't bad, I did leave a little disappointed. read more
