Try Me Nails is tucked into a mostly vacant strip mall, which at least means there's no problem finding parking. From the outside, you can't really see in because the windows are covered with advertisements, but once you step inside it has a trendy, updated look. Checking in wasn't the warmest experience, the front desk staff came across a bit cold, didn't offer me a beverage, or give me much direction other than, "Pick your color." I sat a little past my appointment time without much reassurance that someone would be with me soon. Thankfully, my nail tech, Emma, completely turned the experience around. She was kind, gentle, and professional. I had been putting off a pedicure for far too long, and she never made me feel embarrassed or uncomfortable about it. She wasn't rough, carried a nice balance of conversation without being overwhelming, and just made the whole appointment enjoyable. I absolutely adored her and she's the reason I'll keep coming back. The pedicure itself was great, I opted for the Lux Three pedicure, which included some pretty unique features! There was chairs that massage your back and even your bottom, plus hand massagers and steamers. At $68 which included a $20 tip, I still felt like I got solid value, especially compared to other places where I'd pay close to $100 for the same level of service. That said, there are a few things that could be improved. The massage chairs and some of the equipment seemed pretty rundown. I also noticed long black hairs on the floor and small details around the décor that felt unfinished or not well maintained. These things definitely took away from the overall polished look they seemed to be going for. In short: Emma made the experience worth it, and I'll return because of her. But the salon overall could benefit from stronger customer service at the front desk and a little more attention to cleanliness and upkeep. read more
