So I used Ubereats to place an order at Boil Bay. It was a simple but quick order for 1 Shrimp Po Boy, 1 Crab Po Boy and an order of beignets. The order was placed around 4:30-ish in the afternoon. A driver by the name of Kendel was assigned to deliver my order. I was specific in my delivery instructions. He was to deliver the order to my room at the hotel I am staying at. Very simple, right? The hotel is located off a major freeway and easily accessible. I received notification that my order was being prepared and should be delivered around 5:30-ish. Okay. Waiting on my food. I've ordered from this particular location before and their food is always delicious. My delivery time gets closer so I'm checking in the Ubereats app and....Kendel is indicating that he is having to wait for my food because there is a delay at the restaurant. Okay....a bit unusual for a Monday night, BUT.....possible. To make this saga a bit shorter than the agonizing experience I went through....this unscrupulous driver named Kendel dragged out my delivery and did not make an appearance until 6:48 p.m.! This slovenly excuse of a man ATE my Shrimp Po Boy, refused ALL phone call attempts to reach him and then......yes, there's more.....he had the unmitigated gall to actually act like he couldn't READ! Yup! He finally texted me to cover his rather wide derriere. He went to the hotel NEXT to mine! And then had nerve to ask where my room number was! Let me think.....a 1st grader can READ THE BRIGHTLY ILLUMINATED HOTEL NAME....Kendel must have flunked kindergarten! After I texted back to let him know he was at the hotel ONLY A FEW YARDS AWAY FROM MINE.....he STILL took about 5 minutes to run into the lobby and drop the greasy bag AT THE FRONT DESK!! The app sent me a pic!! That HE had nerve enough to take to show delivery!! He is a donkey's cousin! I ran faster than a collection plate on Sunday down the stairs to the outside.....just in time to see the coward flying out of the hotel parking lot like he was late for all-you-can-eat at Red Lobster!! He didn't even get the code from me that Ubereats generates to confirm delivery! I think that he orchestrated this whole saga trying to get me to give him a bigger tip. He was probably parked at the 7-11 stuffing his oversized oral cavity with MY sandwich! I don't trust the rest of the order as it arrives COLD and in a greasy, slightly wrinkled bag; not how Boil Bay usually packs their food. The thought of this germy credent opening the sandwich boxes to see what HE wanted to eat......breathing over the food.....probably without a mask.....well....I guess I'll be cooking tonight.
