Mandy, the sub post master, was a plethora of information! She was extremely helpful and gave me a list of other nearby post offices for me to explore. This cute little A frame post office in Lacey Spring was set on a high foundation with a ramp leading to the door, the porch, and has a cool sign out front. Inside was simple and clean, not many shipping supplies in stock.
Lacey Spring is an unincorporated village, some research I found called it a neighborhood, with a population so small or insignificant that the census bureau doesn't include them in its census, and may be included in Harrisonburg's population. All my digging found 0 information on the population. There are several historical markers in town, and the sign indicating that you've arrived in this area is a hoot! It was misspelled Lacey Springs instead of Lacey Spring so there's a line through the last S! We got a kick out of that! I guess they didn't want to spring for a new sign!
If you're traveling through Rockingham County, on Rt. 11, through these gorgeous mountains, this tiny post office is with a peek!
