Van Leeuwen has officially landed in Charlotte, and it's everything I hoped it would be. I've been a fan of this brand for years (thanks, Walmart pints), so it was a treat to finally visit their shop in the Commonwealth area. The space is small, clean, and welcoming. Even on a rainy day, it felt like the perfect cozy spot to sneak in a sweet treat. The team let us sample a few flavors before ordering, which made the experience light and fun. I went with the espresso fudge brownie. It was creamy with a great balance of chocolate, espresso crunch, and little brownie pieces in every bite. My husband ordered a double scoop with pistachio and the espresso fudge brownie. Both flavors were rich, smooth, and memorable. Needless to say but we'll definitely be back. This shop is such a great addition to the area and ideal for a summer cool-down, but honestly worth a visit any time of year. read more
