I'm not certain if we dined here on a day when employees had called out sick or what the problem was, but wow, food service was incredibly slow and our poor waiter was terribly in the weeds. There were only 2 servers for the inside and the outside seating areas of the restaurant. Our lunch took 1hour and 45 minutes from start to finish. Much of that time was spent sitting and waiting. Waiting for water, waiting to have our order taken, waiting for food...you get it. We sat so long we felt like we needed to get up and move around. The table next to us was there on a work lunch break and they had to leave without getting their dessert.
The good part is that once the the food arrived it tasted great. It was "restaurant week" so they had an additional menu where you could pick a starter, a main, and a dessert for $20. The hot spinach dip with the pita was nice and creamy with plenty of flavor. My main was the southern fried chicken sandwich which was lightly fried with a buttermilk dredge. The honey-sriracha mayo was a good addition to the sandwich. The finale was the warm cookie skillet. It was what you would expect and a crowd pleaser for the table.
It was unfortunate that the food service was so slow. Our waiter apologized on multiple occasions, but what could he do? You couldn't ask for anything you needed nor would it show up. We never received the ketchup for our French fries, or a refill on the water carafe. read more
