I have utilized the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK? services once, and I plan never to do so again. I had some branches, gunk removed from my gutters, and other garden junk in my yard I needed removed, so I scheduled service for Tuesday evening, as rain was predicted for Wednesday and I wanted to avoid the trash being any heavier than necessary. My husband used some flex time at work in order to make it home in time to meet their window, and when Brandon, the manager, called to confirm, he told me I would get a phone call from them half an hour before they arrived. However, I received a call around 11am the day of my pickup, with Brandon saying his group was in my area and asking to come early. I told him I was at work and needed to have my husband there to show him what to pick up, and declined. I received a call later, asking again if they could come early to get my things, as they were concerned about the weather since they didn't operate in the rain (it was bright and sunny at the time). I declined, repeating that I needed someone at home to show them what to pick up, saying I would reschedule if I had to but wanted my trash picked up that day. Then at around 3, I receive yet another call, this time from a giggling driver saying, "You're our last job of the day and we have nothing to do for two hours, so if you reschedule, I can go home early. Will you reschedule?" He kept insisting it was my decision, but out of frustration with what was supposed to be a simple trash pickup, I asked if they had any availability Thursday morning just so they would stop calling me to try to force me to reschedule. He said he would have his manager call me. Brandon calls again, and sounds confused at my wanting to reschedule. I repeated what his driver told me about wanting me to reschedule so that he could go home. He had the courtesy to at least sound upset and told me that his driver's actions were inappropriate, and that I would not need to reschedule, they would be at my house at 5. I did not receive a call half an hour in advance letting me know the drivers were on their way. Instead, I receive a call from Brandon letting me know that their drivers were there already. My husband, who was supposed to be there to supervise, was on his way home, so I told Brandon he would be there in about 10 minutes. He said he would have his team look over the junk and give me an estimate. He called back a few minutes later with the estimate, I approved and told his guys to start with the branches. He called back a few minutes later and told me his team had already left, as they had been there half an hour. I checked the timestamps on my calls, and there was only a twelve-minute gap between the call letting me know the team had arrived and this one! He offered to reschedule for Thursday morning, LIKE HIS TEAM HAD WANTED ALL ALONG, and promised me he would extend an additional discount for the inconvenience. He did not give me anything in writing, because that would actually call for some accountability. A team did arrive Thursday morning, they called with an ETA, and they were perfectly polite and professional. When they gave the estimate, however, I reminded them about the discount for booking online, as well as the discount Brandon had promised me on the phone. They checked their file and found no notes from Brandon about the discount. Thanks, Brandon! Luckily, his team was polite enough to offer an additional discount anyway, but after the stress and aggravation they had caused me all throughout my work day on Tuesday, I had expected more than what I was offered. My trash got removed in the end, but honestly, I did not feel like a customer to this company. I felt like an inconvenience. I do not plan to inconvenience them any further. read more

I called to have a outside table and chairs picked up. I never got a qoute or anything but when they came out to pick up the table they charged me $200 dollars. That was a lot to be charged. I am not happy and i will never use this company again and i will make sure i let everyone know as well. The only reason i put 1 star is because i had too. On Saturday 15 October 2016 I signed up for trash pickup in the window of 3:30 to 5:30 pm. At 3:05 pm a rep called me and said they would be at my home at 5:00pm. At 6:20 pm I called the home office and asked why they were late a whether I could get a discount. They said they would file a complaint but could not give me a discount. At 7:00 pm, 1 and a half hours after the end of my window, I cancelled my contract. Moral of the story, DO NOT EVER USE 1-800-GOT-JUNK, they are terrible and can't keep a contract. PleSe do not ever use them. What keep be of company offers two hour windows, shows up over two hours late, then doesn't offer a discount? Never again. read more

Drivers made their appointment. They gave me an arbitrary estimate on how much room my junk would take in their truck. Based on a laminated sheet they had on a clipboard (but not available in advance), they quoted me a price of $500. I told them I wasn't looking to pay more than $150 based on how much I had. They called their supervisor and took it for that lower price. Would not use again - find another company or move it yourself. Not going to give you the best price. read more

I used this company for an Eastern Shore job and they lived up to everything I thought about them as I had seen their work on Flip or Flop! The key here is to get the right and most informed representative when you call. Big shout out to Angela- she knows the business. The first time I contacted this company, I got an idiot male representative who was rude, curt, and in my opinion could have cared less about my business that I was bringing to the company. I hung up thinking that this cannot possibly be the Junk remote people I held in such high esteem- totally professional and efficient. So I called again and got Angela! They quoted me a decent approximate price over the phone, and stated when they came to pick it up (and thus could actually see it) they would give a definite price. No obligation. They were available to come the day after I called, which was great. They called an hour before arrival, as stated, and arrived on time. The two gentlemen were friendly and professional. I was charged $163 ($173 but $10 coupon). I was satisfied with the price because no way would I move this thing myself and these days you can't even give away an entertainment center I tried)! The first appt I had booked with them, they failed to call or show up in their 2 hour window so we rescheduled. And I think it's ridiculous that because one item was a bed (that we had taken apart) the cost was more than initially quoted. The total was $829 and on the phone I was told the most it would be is $699 for a full truck. The guys did not have shoe covers which most companies working in your home do have; they knocked one of our alarm sensors off the door and did not tell us, and (after I asked them not to) they parked on our just seeded lawn. Using 1800gotjunk was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. When I was cleaning out my basement, I had some items that needed to go to the landfill but others that were in excellent condition and had a lot of life left. I spoke with a representative of GJ and was assured that 60% of the items they collected were recycled or donated. This is what I was looking for. I hired GJ and they showed up, reassured me that items would be donated and recycled. The workers proceeded to remove a piano that needed to be tuned, dragged it across the driveway on its side, then dumped it upside down in the truck, threw bath vanity cabinets that were in excellent condition in the truck, scraping them up along the way, threw a good metal filing cabinet in on top of a marble vanity top breaking the vanity top into three pieces. So much for recycling and donating. In fact, I had a load of trash that I was taking to the landfill at the same time that these clowns left my house. Guess who I saw at the landfill? Yep, the GJ guys with all of the stuff they were going to "recycle." And, they only charged $450 to "recycle" my items. I contacted GJ afterwards and they offered me 10% off of my next GJ experience!! Needless to say, there won't be another Got Junk experience for me. A total waste. read more
