Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Do not hire these guys. They ruined my hardwood floors trying to get a treadmill up the stairs. A treadmill that I carried down the stairs with no incident BTW. When they finally called me because they had the treadmill wedged at the top of the stairs I noticed the scratches on the floor. We had an extremely old freezer that quit working - we had no idea who to call to pick it up! They came and picked it up and worked very hard to get it out of the house - wasn't easy! A+ for responsiveness. I was able to make an appointment in less than a day C for timeliness. The window was 1100-1300 hrs. They did not show up until after 1400 hrs A+ for communication. They called when they realized they were going to be late B+ for professionalism: both were courteous and professional at first but then the senior individual suddenly copped a major attitude. The other guy ( who just started working for GotJunk) was extremely professional throughout. D for not making it clear on the website that GotJunk personnel are not authorized to unhook any appliances and they do not bring tools with them. We had moved out of the house, therefore we did not have any tools. Nor did the GotJunk guys. That is when the senior of the two started demonstrating an attitude. Fortunately we were able to find a neighbor who was home and had the necessary tools. We unhooked the washer and then were able to proceed. B for price. All in all a decent experience. I just wish we were made aware of what the guys could do and could not do before they arrived. It would have saved us all some time. read more

Don't call them. Overpriced and unprofessional. Please do some quick searches and use Yelp. I didn't do either, and am regretting it. I called a bunch of other local vendors who have been amazing. Give them a chance. 1 800 got junk cost 4 times what I am about to pay. I am figuring they didn't want the work. Also, unprofessional crew member. Opened my front door and walked through my house with his shoes on and out my back door. No one answered the door or was in my house! We were out back talking with first crew member who came to the door, but never came in...we walked outside only. I placed a complaint and have a case number. Awful experience. The 2 guys were GREAT!! They were friendly, on time, great personalities and explained everything I needed to know!! I had a couple of other items that I made last minute decisions on, and the were not hesitant to remove them for me! They were also Master Finaglers with my treadmill desk that in the past "professional movers" had trouble getting through doorways intact!!!! I was BEYOND impressed with their ability to work together on that one piece of furniture to get it through 2 doorway without us having to partially take it apart!!! First, it looks like GOT-JUNK may be a franchise, and I don't know which one I called... but I think it was this one. Five Stars based on: 1. They are available on a whim. I got the idea at 1300 (that's 1 PM), submitted the web form at 1305, they called twice before 1400. They were here at 1500 (.. 3 PM). 2. I showed them the items to discard. They explained (with their book) that the price was based on cubic volume. I can completely understand.. it's the volume in their truck, not the time to move. 3. I agreed to price. They took the items, with some skilled heavy lifting. Heavy lifting that wasn't me doing. Sum up: 1. 2 hours from web submittal .... to items gone. 2. Fair price (based on volume in the truck) . 3. No physical effort on my part (a PREMIUM because recent surgery forbids heavy lifts)... ...and it's FIVE stars from me! Yes you could do better---if you have time, patience, muscles, truck. We had just moved into a new house, and the previous owner had left behind a ton of really heavy junk underneath the deck, including one of those full-size trampolines (in bad shape). These guys were very professional and quick - we were very glad for this service, it would have taken forever for us to take apart the trampoline and haul away, plus it was extremely heavy. We booked 180 Got Junk to remove a broken, leaky fridge from our new home. Pros: Best price, responsive, easy to book, flexible times/days. Cons: The two men seemed inexperienced, they didn't know how to unhook the waterline and did not have any of the tools needed to complete the job. I happened to have the tools they needed, or else the job wouldn't have gotten done. They seemed to have trouble lifting and hauling and needed help from me (5 months pregnant) and my husband to get the fridge out of there with minimum leakage. It would have been a smoother process if the the young men had the tools they needed or were able to call the main office for support/instructions on what to do. read more

These guys are amazing! My fiancé and I had a large and ugly 1960s basketball hoop in our back yard. A total eyesore. It was in a block of cement over 350lbs. Pat H. was awesome. He scheduled his day around when I would be home from work and was so polite. Super fast scheduling. I like that they provide the estimate after they look at what you want to get rid of. The two young guys that worked on my job were professional and very friendly -- and strong! They arranged the furniture on the truck in such a way that it actually saved me money, so the cost ended up being less than the original estimate. Also, the truck they pulled up in was not some huge monstrosity. It was a nice small truck that easily fit into my small parking space. Lastly, since the items were around back, they willingly walked the items around from my back deck to the front where their truck was parked. Great job. Would definitely use them again. read more

Terrible - go to some other company. They do not honor their estimate. Made a big deal about coming out to do a written estimate which I understood to be the final cost. They quit without finishing the job. You need to watch them every second or things will disappear. Made a big mess. Did not clean up and left me with a mess to clean-up. Broke things before they got them on the truck leaving me with a driveway full of glass I had to clean up before I could dive my car on the driveway. The driveway is gravel so I had to pick-up the glass a piece at a time. It took so long, my neighbor took pity on me and came over to help. Other stuff they dropped spread across my yard and into the neighbors. I filled 1/3 of a black plastic bag with debris they left littered around outside. read more

Way too expensive. On the internet it says to take a Hot Tub would be at the most $150. I thought maybe $200 because of my area.. I have the smallest Hot Tub 6' round. Why all they had to do is turn it on the side and roll it down to the trunk (10 mins). Put onto truck and bring to a Hazardous waste landfill which cost them $20... They wanted over $500... We have a few rental properties and this is the second time we've used 1-800-Got Junk for a hoarder situation with a tenant. Both times they were excellent. In this particular scenario, two rooms in an office were filled almost completely floor to ceiling with books, furniture, and other junk. I called their 1-800 number to book the appointment, and then the evening before the appointment someone called to confirm the appointment and was super friendly and informational about what to expect, and confirmed that all of the details they had were correct (such as needing an empty truck). On the day of the appointment, three team members showed up on time and with an empty truck as requested, and they worked nonstop for 5 hours (with no breaks) clearing out all of the junk from this office. They filled the truck up, at which point one employee drove the truck to dump it while the other two stayed to bag everything and get it out to the sidewalk. All of the employees were friendly, professional, and courteous and I couldn't have asked for more! My only complaint is that the pricing is pretty steep for pure junk removal, but considering there were three guys working for 5 hours, they are cheaper than some of their competing brands, and they did a fantastic job, I would definitely continue to use them. read more

If you want to feel completely unimportant then this is your junk hauler. I called to set up an appt to haul off junk, and they were so busy they had to call me back. No problem. They said 90 minutes. It was more like a few hours. I set up my pick up window, no problem. Only during that window I recorded a call from the driver who said their truck was full and could t make it. What!? He said well we were really busy. Ok, well guess what. Maybe you don't wait until the last few minutes of that window to call. Overpriced as it turns out, unreliable, and frankly, this company could use some help with customer service. read more

Disappointed. Two young men came on time but their quote was $374 - seemed pretty high to me considering it was a bunch of garbage bags and boxes- all grouped together in the living room. I had a $50 gift card they would not honor. When I challenged the cost vs the amount one man tried to justify it (though it was clear neither was confident in the quote)- I will admit I cut him off and told him to just leave the stuff here. He turned around without another word and walked out of the house, even though I apologized for cutting him off. He never came back in. The other guy left the house and called his supervisor re the cost- He came back and said $304 was the best he could do. I wish I could attach a picture of what I needed removed. They left and the junk stayed in my living room. Their customer service left something to be desired. The cost was too high and I will use a competitor next time. **Update. I called a competitor who did the job for 1/3 of the cost quoted to me by 1-800. Do your homework folks and shop around. Some companies have discounts for ordering service online and some will allow you to submit a picture so you can get a fairly accurate quote. read more

I had 1-800-GOT-JUNK come remove a sofa bed and over sized chair today. I called yesterday afternoon and was able to schedule a pickup between 11-1. I received two calls today providing me an update when they would arrive. One an hour out and one about 10 minutes before arriving. I had a unique removal situation. The furniture was on the second level of a townhouse and had to go out onto my deck, across to my neighbor's deck and down her stairs. Kevin and Coleman didn't even bat an eyelash. Said it was unique but not the craziest thing they had ever done! In about 20 minutes they had removed the furniture and were on their way. I also want to say I couldn't have met two nicer individuals. They were both college students and so pleasant to deal with. They are the kind of kids that restore your faith in humanity, yet we never hear about the good ones!! I contacted 1-800-GOT-JUNK after contacting two other companies who both passed on my removal situation. Like I said...1-800-GOT-JUNK didn't even blink an eye. And it turns out they were cheaper than the other ballpark quotes I got from the other removal companies. I definitely would hire them again and won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asks!!! Two well mannered young men arrived at my door and quickly placed the freezer on a two wheeler and had it out of the basement and on the truck in minutes.
