One thing that was great is how they took time to prepare the home for the moving process, protecting floors, stairs, and other surfaces to make sure zero damage was done. Their wrapping of items was great - you can definitely tell that they care about protecting your items. Moving is always a pain, but Prince Movers and the team were awesome from the first quote to the final hand shakes with the team. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. That advice was one of the reasons I ultimately decided to use PODS instead. My moving needs did change at the last minute, which made the overall move more expensive than I had originally planned, but that was because of the changing logistics, not because they were trying to increase the price. I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.

They wrapped and protected items properly, loaded everything securely, and they did not damage a single thing during the move. I have used We Have A Truck (WHAT) two times now. The first for a furniture transport and the second for a full move. I cannot recommend this company enough. Not only was the whole process extremely easy, but they were also very friendly, professional, and answered all of my questions. Both times, the staff were extremely pleasant and did an incredible job. They even wrapped my furniture up for me to prevent any damage and removed my tv and wall mount for me since I was unable to do it myself. They really went above and beyond for me. We discovered WHAT about a year ago. Our recent significant house move was the latest project for which we hired this outstanding team of young, enterprising, efficient young men. The move itself involved several moving parts that were all handled professionally and accurately. In packing the house, they did not place one article on the truck without adequate protection. Everything was either boxed or wrapped in cellophane or blankets. On the download, tight corners and chairs were navigated without one scratch or damaged item. My wife and I are moving and decided it was time to part with our 45-year-old Steinway piano. Giving it to my sister who lives about 250 miles away. She hired We Have A Truck. Luis and Ray Ray arrived right on time. They immediately scoped the job out and got to work wrapping up the piano and putting moving blankets around it. They were careful and courteous and drove off about 45 minutes after arriving. No problems or issues. I obviously can't speak for what happens between the time they left and the time they deliver the piano, but I expect they will do an excellent and professional job. read more

So pleased that I saw there signs in the neighborhood. They responded immediately to my request. I needed furniture moved from my mom's house to mine- only a couple blocks away. They wrapped the antique cherry high boy dresser in padding and plastic. They took the full size bed frame apart and wrapped it also in padding. All was placed in my house in the bedroom I requested. All was set up. No problems! The gentlemen that did the move were polite and respectful. I will use them again for sure because I know I can trust a quick response and honest workers. They moved my mothers furniture to our storage unit on the very same day I called them. Highly recommend. We used them for a relatively small (one bedroom) move within DC. They were fair, professional, and reasonably priced. The day of the move there was a big event in DC causing major, hour long, traffic issues. They rolled with it and made the move happen regardless of delays. read more

They didn't take random breaks and this work is back-breaking honestly. We provided tons of cold water and pizza for lunch to make sure they were fueled enough. They were super, super careful about everything they moved, very professional, courteous, places stuff where we asked them to and were generally nice and smiling throughout the process. They took care and time when moving - took them 10.5 hours to get the job done. I'd highly recommend them for anyone wanting to move honestly. I have zero complains or notes. Gainesville , VA to Bend, OR: So, I'm going to start this…read morereview by saying I was immersed in quotes from 2 nationwide, (and they hate being called that) "brokers" for two weeks prior to looking at this company. I had a first quote from a "binding" company (for 10.5k lbs) which was on the very high side, and could have gone higher, if the local movers "felt" they were doing more work than was estimated. Hmmm, not comforting at all. They could actually stop the packing process. The quote could not have gone less than originally estimated. I had a second quote that was "non-binding" that was a full $6K less for a thousand pounds less (for 9.5k lbs) that could have gone higher based on the weight at the scale pre-load and post load. Both companies are under the Sirva umbrella of companies and would be well recognized by name (but if you did a yelp review search they rate at 2.5 or less). I just had an uneasy feeling about both when they each estimated upwards (and the second company by $4k) after I questioned their pricing models. This is what really had me concerned: They don't like to be called "brokers" even though they farm out the loading, the trucking, and the unloading. Additionally, you are often loaded with other customers along the way, which could result in damage (when off and on loading at the warehouses) and other obvious concerns when multiple people/companies are looking at and handling "your stuff". The latter part of this equation is what concerned me most. I have NEVER done a coast to coast move on my own, and had zero assistance from anyone in my family, plus being from the east coast I do not innately trust others. So, two days before I needed to make a decision, I "yelped" "nationwide movers" and Matthew's Nationwide Moving popped up. Lo and behold, they had a 5 star rating from DC to Bend, OR. I'm like, "no way, that's AI", but I left an email and a voicemail and thus the journey began. I got a call from the company, got emails from the company, got a call from Matthew, the owner, and in two days he was at my place to give me a quote. Jessica is who I dealt with mostly for the communications. The moving quote was straightforward, but the packing (labor and materials was not) so I called and emailed to get a "good enough for government work" estimate for a house my size and weight. I felt comfortable enough because even if it exceeded the labor and materials it would still be less than the other estimates of the two established companies I was pondering for over two weeks. One other thing: each of the two other companies required a $200 deposit- which was no biggie in a move of this magnitude; but they required full payment prior to either the truck unloading, or the truck even actually showing up to unload. What business and what a dummy you would be to pay for something either not yet delivered or not yet received? That is not proper business protocol and something that really made me think twice. Matthew's Nationwide Moving asked for a $200 deposit to book , and nothing until after they unpacked and made sure everything was delivered as agreed upon. That's what sealed the deal for me. Fast forward to 4 weeks of prep for me and the last 7 days of packing, moving into the truck, and delivering, (we drove for 5 days with our cat George- so definitely traumatizing). Obviously they drove the same distance! I can say that it was all and more than I could ever had hoped for in a team of utmost professional and truly caring men who fulfilled my husband's dream of moving to this new place I now call home. That I know the people who packed me out, drove the load, and packed me in is and was the guarantee that sold me on this life altering journey. Matthew, Tyrone, and TJ- (and the others) you are my heroes. Thank you for helping me with this very emotional and physical transition to my new life. I don't know how you do it- but somehow, you have done it, and I am so happy to have placed my trust in you. End to end- you did it. Thank you, again!

These two moved us from DC to Oregon without so much as a dent, a ding, or even a sigh. They handled our stuff like it was priceless art. They were very careful--so careful I half expected them to tuck my couch in with a bedtime story before loading it onto the truck. The price? More than fair and fully transparent. Honestly, I would have paid extra just for the peace of mind. Communication was top-notch from the first estimate (thanks Jessica!) to the final handshake (thanks Matthew!), and they proved over and over that they run their business with integrity and kindness--two things we need more of in this world. He showed up on time and he removed the deck with the help of 2 guys. They worked fast and he sent 2 guys with a truck to come collect all the wood the next day. They got everything moved without a scratch on anything, and honestly, they're the fastest movers I've ever seen. James said he treats moving like Tetris, and he and Jesse did an excellent job getting lots of boxes and furniture safely onto dollies. I also appreciated how they triaged the types of furniture and loaded so many things onto multiple dollies in order to take it all down the elevator in as few trips as possible. From a pandemic perspective, they wore masks during the move, and I didn't feel any concerns. When I had to sign final paperwork at my old place, they headed to the new place and informed the concierge of our arrival to get the loading dock ready--now that's service!
