I called and asked about getting information off of a laptop and what it would cost me. They gave me a quote and said it would take 2-3 days. A few days after I dropped it off (not WHEN I dropped it off) they called me and said it's a Chromebook and they cannot retrieve information because it has a circuitboard and not a drive. When I arrived to pick up he charged me $40 to prove that it had a circuitboard. He said he didn't know it was a Chromebook when I dropped it off and that "it could have been a sticker". What. A. As I may have had some similar experiences with repairs over the years, I am in a different position where I'm blessed to have other computers to use while another is being repaired. The one thing that everyone doesn't know is that 1 Stop Computers is asked to repair some of the most dilapidated devices that which the customer knows that their device should just be thrown out but, insists that a miracle be performed. I just am appreciative when I'm told that a miracle just happened and that the computer I dropped off is fixable. I'm strong believer that you get what you pay for when it comes to having a computer built initially. It's kind of comical that people believe a $500, 5 to10-year-old computer should last forever. Just know that Cameo is and has always been fair in the repairs - pricing and that if given enough time, he can make the impossible, possible. read more

I went to 1 Stop wanting to build a PC for music production & gaming. After I explained what I was looking for, they were able to figure out exactly which parts I needed for the build. Cameo was very knowledgeable & informative; we chatted for a while before he made the list of my parts... I had to put a deposit down first, but he called me in about a week and my new PC was ready! It took me a lil' while to set everything up once I got it home, but now I'm good to go! I'd definitely recommend 1 Stop Computers for anyone in the Lansing area looking to build a PC. And I'll probably go there for any repairs I may need in the future. Cameo did an awesome job with building my PC, so I would trust him to do quality repairs as well! I took my alienware laptop here for a keyboard replacement, and paid well over 100 dollars, they said i could take my laptop while i waited for the new 1 to come in, they even let me barrow a cheap keyboard until it came in. its been a few months, and i have not heard back from them, I want my laptop fixed, or i want my money back. but every time i go there, to get my money back, they seem closed. read more

I have read a lot of negative reviews about PC Outlet and have to disagree with them. I have been going here for the last year for all my computer needs and taken family as well and, have never had a problem. The staff is knowledgeable, informative and very helpful. I just bought a new PC and had they had anything but a Dell there, I'd have purchased it from them rather than from the big electronics store that tried to sell me everything under the sun even after telling them I have everything new except for the tower and that's all I wanted. read more

I took my desktop for service June 18 and was told the turnaround time would be 4-6 business days. I had not heard a word from them so I called on the 27th. The way he responded, it sounded like he had not even looked at it. He tried to sell me one of his computers. I said I preferred to have mine repaired. He said it would be ready later that day. I went to pick it up. I waited while he and a friend were discussing the Corona virus problems at Harpers. They went on and on for 5 minutes before he acknowledged me. I took it home and it still was not working. I took it to another computer shop (Stellar) and it was repaired in one business day. I will never return to 1 Stop. read more

I find it hard to even rate them even 1 star anymore. I used to go to them because they were easy and affordable. However, here is my experience: I brought my PC in for repair, he examined it and tells me it should be no more than 2-4 worth of work. So after 2 days, I called and he tells me that the problem was bigger than he thought, which is understandable and I asked him how much longer he needs. He tells me not long at all if I purchased the necessary things for replacement which I agreed to. So 3 days later I called and my calls kept getting ignored. I later drove there and upon walking in, I could see him just chatting with a customer (good customer service, I'll admit) but while waiting in line, the phone rings about 4 different times and all of which he picks up... He then tells me more problem is surfacing with my repairs. So I gave him a few more days A few more days passed as same thing happens, calls ignored and one time I stopped in on their supposed "open" days and the shop is closed. A few days after that he tells me he is having even more problems... Long story short, what was told as 2-4 days has stretched long pass 3 weeks. What bugs me is not the prolonged process yet the ignored calls and no updates. Sorry but I miss how it was ran before, quick, easy and affordable... I pulled up at 9:55 to do buisness with them, I drove there from Onondaga, there was an older guy standing out front smoking, as I got out of vehicle he looked at his watch and said "we don't open for 5 more minutes" I stood there in disbelief as he continued smoking, he shrugged his shoulders at me, I said I would never run my buisness this way so..... giving him an opportunity to correct himself but again he shrugged his shoulders and said "oh well" Who operates a buisness that way besides the state of Mi? I had three different computers repaired by 1 Stop and all are working perfectly now and the services were very reasonable. The repairs were done in a very timely manner as well. I had a truly bizarre experience at PC Outlet. I took in our laptop to have the jack replaced. The computer was working well, but the jack was broken, making it difficult to plug the cord into it. I used it just before taking it in, and there were no other problems. I paid up front. When I inquired three days later, they told me that the computer would not function because it was in need of a new motherboard. I disputed the need for a new motherboard, because, again, we had never had problems with the computer other than the somewhat damaged jack. I asked the owner to try another power cord to be sure that it had not been damaged. He asked me to hold, returned to the phone and replied that he tested it, and it was not the cord. After my VERY adamant disagreement regarding the need for a new motherboard, and after telling him that I had just used the computer and sent out messages before bringing it in, he said that they would replace the motherboard at no charge for parts or labor. He said that it would take several days for the motherboard to arrive. I called three days later and was told that the person working on my computer was not available, and that the manager was also not available. I did not receive a return call that day or the next. Two days after that, I called again, and the manager was busy. Later that day, the manager returned my call to tell me that our computer was ready, and that the problem had been the power cord, which was damaged. When I picked up our laptop, I confronted the owner. I reminded him that I had held on the phone while he had tested the cord. He responded that he HAD tested the cord- the old one- and that it didn't work. I attempted to explain that he should have tried a NEW cord to see if the OLD cord was the problem, and he responded that they did not have a new cord at the time. Looking around the store, I wondered how in the world that could be possible. He then said that they replaced the jack, but the new jack was defective, so they replaced it with a second one, and also replaced the motherboard. He was then surprised to receive a call at home over the weekend from his employee stating that the problem was the cord. Given that I had been told over the weekend that they were still waiting on the motherboard to arrive, I found this difficult to understand. In the end, we have our computer, presumably a new motherboard, a new jack, a new cord, and a somewhat loud laptop. It sometimes sounds like there is a small fan going berserk inside it. Otherwise, it does seem to work as usual. I will leave it to the readers to decide whether this entire fiasco was the result of incompetency or an attempt to have us pay them for a motherboard. I honestly have no idea, and will make no claims. Either way, I do not recommend risking your computer by taking it to this business. read more
