Im writing this since my friends too sweet, She went looking for french tip nails for 4th of July. The nail tech began by asking only what length and not what shape. She did not put any nail polish on her nails, just glued the tip on put the top coat and called it a day. And still she payed 60 bucks! She painted over them as soon as she got home. I went to get an acrylic set for nails done. They were pretty friendly but they decided without asking me to switch to the dip system, which I personal hate, when I said I didn't want that system they told me it was better for my nails and continued on. They didn't turn out at all like I wanted they were bumpy and uneven. But they were manageable so I was upset but not bad enough to complain and then she proceeded to charge me the full actual acrylic price instead of the dip system price which I know for a fact should be less expensive. Later that night I was opening a PLASTIC BAG and one broke off. At this point I was livid and went in to complain and thankfully she had no problem fixing the one. But the same day another one started to lift I put my hand through my hair and it got stuck. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone ! UPDATE: that night the rest of the nails were lifted again with no real reason. When I went back for a SECOND time they refused to fix or give me a refund because they "weren't" at fault. Almost 60$ for two day's worth of shitty nails. read more

After reading the reviews, I decided to go try this nail salon. What a huge mistake. The guy who did my pedicure was a slob. He barely did any of the services associated with a pedicure. Never added any sanitizer to the water, sloppy trim of my nails leaving points that he did not fix, rough edges, no scrubbing of calluses, did not clean under nor around the toe nail. And, his polish job was so bad that he had polish all over my toes. He didn't care one bit about the pride of doing a good job. The other tech had to fix his mistakes. And she did my manicure and cut into the nail bed and I had to keep a tri-antibiotic ointment on my thumb to prevent further damage and keep an infection from developing further. Do not go here. It's not safe and they do a horrible job. Not worth the risk. read more

We're camping in Crescent City for 6 weeks and REALLY needed my nails done. (Fill/gel) They were busy when I called but gave me a time, the same day, to come in. The place is bright, inviting and clean. The husband and wife team are so warm and hospitable. All I can say is that she was METICULOUS in doing my nails. The end result was perfection. From conversations with other customers, evidently she knows some trick nails that she pulls off with ease. One customer had different versions of US flags on each finger! (For 4th of July) This Salon has exceeded my expectations and after having such a rewarding experience here, I'm going to have to look for a different salon, when I get home. Oh my gosh !! What a wonderful experience. I took my three daughters and my son into this salon after reading the several critical reviews. I let them know I had to get my phone I'd forgotten in the car... When I came back they were showing my kids all of the options available. My kids have never been so excited to get their nails done. They were also really open to helping my son despite his gender unlike the other salons. Their prices were reasonable considering the different colors and add-ons my kids asked for. I love this salon!! I came back to get my nails done and although they're not extremely fluent in English. They still tried their best to make small talk and get me exactly what I paid for. While, staying across the St. at the redesigned motel 6, we spotted the 101 nail salon. I told my friend that if we arrived at 9, they may fit us in. We arrived at 9 and the owner and his very nice wife were very accommodating, and has us in the massage chairs and hot water by 9:05. We both received a great pedi, massage and lotion. If your in the area, and need anything done, before you unveil thoes toes to the beach, stop in and get them trimmed up. We will return any time we come thru. read more

I wish there was a way to leave negative stars because I have come to this place before and paid $50 for something I didn't even ask for and damaged cuticles, and the nails barely lasted a week. However giving them the benefit of the doubt went back a couple days ago with a friend, and I'd have to say was the most painful nail appointment I've ever experienced and once again not what I asked for, and every single one of my friends nails started lifting after LITERALLY 2 DAYS! And it's somehow "not their fault", even though she asked specifically to not use the dip system and they did it anyway. The owners/technicians are very friendly and answer questions you may have about services they provide. They work fast and get you in and out at a reasonable speed. This place is one of the best places we've been to. We're from out of town and we called several places and they all turned us away because they didn't take walk ins. Lucky for us because 101 is the best. Everyone in there was very friendly especially the man(didn't get his name) who i assume was the owner. Very clean and very comfortable. Had a fun time talking with everyone as they made my wife, merrijo, feel great. Nice leg and foot massage and did an excellent job on her toes.
