The Rick Stacy Morning Show is my absolute favorite. Rick, Jill and smokestack are so entertaining and fun to listen to and have such a great banter! Whenever I'm traveling all over north and Central Florida for my job, I'm always listening to the podcast version when I'm not at home to listen to the live show. Best morning radio show of any city I've lived in, and we have lived all over the country from California to Texas to Ohio to North Carolina to Florida. Mediocre selection of "80's, 90's, and Classic Rock" (read: the same d-rate songs you've heard thousands of times, not the classics) punctuated by constant, vitriolic political "hot takes" nobody asked for. It's 7:30 in the morning, just play the same two AC/DC songs selected because the license is cheap, nobody wants to hear an adult toddler melting down over imagined crises, and confabulated excuses to blubber-blame minority groups over the airwaves. I hope these DJs are paid extra for embarrassing themselves live on-air, and that it covers talk-therapy. read more

Liked this station until recently it sounds like they've been amping up their political takes. I get its humor oriented but it's a bit jarring when you're in a good mood from the music then all of a sudden a political take. Kinda ruins the vibe in my opinion. From what I've read it actually seems like they've toned down their political views but unfortunately it's just enough to make me change stations, and y'all were in the running for a preset slot too, shame :/ read more

This rating is specifically for the rick stacy morning show.The actual radio station plays great music once his show is over, but he is such a one sided, biased, negative morning show that supports the maga movement at all cost. I'm so rolling on the floor laughing reading the negative reviews of the morning show... WHY oh WHY are these people listening then???!!! I LOVE the morning show, and get disappointed when I miss it. In reality, the morning show is the ONLY reason I listen to this station. Once Rick, Jill, and Smokestack are finished for the day I change to my country stations. I actually like that the morning show is 95% talk (wellll except for all the ads that pay for the show ), it's why I turn on this station. Worst morning show I've ever heard . Who wants to listen to such negativity on them morning drive. I like the music but Rick and the crew are just total hacks. I normally listen to real radio but during commercials I would switch the channel and when I came upon yours it seems like something went out of someone's basement and it's nothing but condescending sophomoric amateur hour. I love this show! They unveil many truths and unlike others they do retract any information proven to be false... They vet their news 3-4 searches deep on anything critical, but even when the facts are proven to be a little off or occasionally just wrong? They will fess up and retract the story, if listeners contact them with a legit correction. Also, because they don't have 20 staff members, you as the listener should be doing all your own research as they are constantly stating in their show.... "Show!!!" Not the "News"!! Review # 871. This is Orlando's classic hits station playing music from the 70s 80s and 90s. I listen to the station because it reminds me of my youth. In my opinion the music back then was so much better than it is now. From time to time they have call in contests. One day I was the lucky 10th caller, and I won tickets to go see Jim Gaffigan, Who just happens to be my wife's favorite comedian. This radio station is tucked into a nondescript business center in Maitland Florida. After I located the station on the fourth floor, I was tended to buy two ladies in the reception area. Ladies were juggling phone calls, and other winners at the same time. Both women were very kind, and very jovial. Upon provide him identification, I signed for and received my tickets. Fantastic station. Morning show is serious. Them makes fun of their seriousness. Then back to serious again. Then the head honcho who runs things on it takes off a couple of days n goes back to being a dishwasher at a diner n his comrades balance things again for him... all the while you know how awesome a person that dishwasher is. Absolutely fantastic! The other dj's throughout the day ... super fantastic. 1 of them talks about his daughter all the time. Makes me feel good as a single parent of 2 autistic kids myself. I can see I'm not the only one on here who doesn't care for the negativity on this morning show. It's not even that I disagree with them on everything, it's just I'm so tired of the divisiveness in our country. We're all so weary of politics and hate and us vs. them. We turn on oldies radio because it makes us feel good and remember simpler times. All the snide and snark doesn't fill me with joy on the way to work. There's a reason I'm not turning on AM radio. But the hosts have every right to say everything they think and want to say. I'll always support that. I don't desire any kind of change. You do you do. But me? Eh. I really enjoy listening to this show. Reading the reviews, I saw one post where a lady was complaining because 105.9 is a music radio station. Ummm... I don't recall too many radio stations that play all music in the morning. LOL. Also, they do play music mixed in with their show, unlike other shows. I would listen to two stations all of the time until the past 6 months or so. First & foremost, the music has really changed on 105.9. It's not the same classic 70s, 80s, and some 90s anymore. It's flipside Duran Duran songs, REM, etc - more wedding style songs to get the people on the dance floor. However, I'm not a morning talk show person, and Rick S is just annoying to me. I actually like the other two hosts. I happen to be a very conservative person, but Rick is a bit too "over the top" for me. Plus, I think their show drags on too long. I need music to get me going in the morning. Oh, lastly, I heard Rick S make a comment a little while back about how he didn't care for Tom Petty s music. Actually made fun of his voice. While vacationing in Orlando, we of course rented a car, and of course it was my job to find a radio station to tune into while on the road. It took me a few days of searching through the local radio stations to find something I could really relate to. When driving long distances, music is something I rely on to keep my spirits up. There are not that many reviews written for this station, and most of them are back in 2008. I'm not sure what kind of music was being played back then, but when I finally discovered 105.9 during our trip in Aug of 2016, I was ecstatic to reminisce with popular hits from the 80's and early 90's! I live in the New York area, and I used to enjoy current Sunny morning host/program director Rick Stacy on my local station WCBS-FM back in the late 2000s. Then when he first came to Sunny as program director, he turned this into perhaps the liveliest-sounding Classic Hits station in the whole country, which I would make a point to listen to online. But somewhere along the way, his morning show turned into a MAGA propaganda fest, while the station as a whole turned into another clone of every other boring Classic Hits station (with a stale 300-song corporate rock playlist and out-of-town DJ's who barely say anything). Usually the ignorance of Stacy when he comments about things he knows nothing about are sadly humorous, but today suggesting that that tragic accident where a boy fell into a boat propeller and died was due to his friends running him over several times was too much. I use to listen to this station and loved the music they play but not anymore, if I want to hear all the political BS, I would listen to FOX, CNN, etc. Sometimes, you need to get away from all of that stuff and music does it for me. They play a cycle of about 50 songs- so much so that you will hear some random 80s hit TWICE in a 4-5 hour stretch and most of the 80s tracks they play are forgettable ones while a huge library of 1000k 80s grooves seem locked away. read more
