I remember the old times of when Piggly Wiggly was all over throughout small towns…read more I was made aware that this location was going to be closed permanently as of 7/31/25 so we decided to make a trip to shop at this location and remember how it was back in the day. The store was having 50% of produce and 30% off everything else. This sounded good but after checking other stores like Walmart and Aldi there really wasn't any savings after the closeout prices. It's sad that the store is closing and loosing employees but Piggly Wiggly should really get more competitive on prices if they want to stay in business. The store was really nice and clean and the employees were helpful even though they knew today was their last day of business. I hope they are able to find a job that makes up for the lose. We did have a nice visit overall.

The fuel station requires that you are a member of the Sam's Club, but if you are expect to save considerable dollars and cents over other fueling stations in the area. There's also a complementary car wash along with the fueling and the site has a tub car wash to stay fairly busy. We have really become spoiled to not even having to touch the pumps for payment, as the site has touchless payment options using the Sam's Club app or your Smart phone. This is our favorite place to fuel up in Portsmouth.

They have their 'Aisle of Shame' which always has so many delightful items to choose from at great prices. This location doesn't have a self-check. Don't forget to bring your grocery bags and your quarter for the cart which is refunded when you return the cart. My only complaint at this time is that they don't carry their Steakhouse (?) potato salad all year. They said it's only seasonal which I think is ridiculous. I would eat it all year round for sure.

We went to this location on 3-5-25 for a few items in the produce section. Unfortunately everything we needed was beyond nasty and really should not have been on the shelves for sale. Some of the fruit were slimy and a few of the vegetables were growing mold on them. I had another rude interaction from one of the employees when I showed them the fruits and vegetables. I would totally avoid this location by all cost.
