There were a group of pros racing, which was a treat to watch. We raced for 15 minutes, having rented a car and a controller. It was such an adrenaline rush that we were still buzzing half an hour later! We came back the following day when they opened and had an absolute blast! The owner was super helpful and answered all our questions. Can't wait to come back and probably also have my kid's birthday party there in a few months! So cool!

I also think the course is kept in reasonably good shape considering how much play it gets. That said I cannot recommend to is course because it is, frankly, horribly run. They put off groups every 9 minutes and the backups on some holes extend to 2, 3 or even 4 groups. The rangers do nothing to promote pace of play. I would easily pay 50% more to have groups go off every 12 or 15 minutes. It's abundantly clear that the staff has absolutely no regard for pace of play. I understand that they have to make money, but the course is so inexpensive that they could easily charge a premium to put out fewer groups. Additionally, on one Saturday I ended up waiting on the fifth hole for 45 minutes while a group of the club's members did a shootout on the green. They did not let us play through, and in fact cursed me out when I told them they were holding us up. It added well over an hour to what was already a five hour round when you count the delays on previous holes. Mind you this was on a Saturday at noon, which is a pretty high volume time to stage such a tournament. The staff was entirely unsympathetic to our complaints. Another time, the back nine was entirely clear and they were four groups on the fourth tee. My group decided to play the completely open back nine and we were sternly yelled at by the staff and thrown off the course. I would absolutely not recommend that anyone play here, which is a shame, because the course is actually lovely.

It's your usual pub fare. I had a turkey club sandwich and it was delicious. Definitely a good portion of turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The bacon was also perfectly cooked, definitely not the rubbery, pre-cooked garbage you might expect. The clientele is what you would expect it to be: Mostly old-timers yelling at a jockey for making a mistake, but frankly, if you expect to go in there and see anything different, you've obviously never been to the track before. You aren't going to see the suits and ties and big hats here. Those people may be shown on TV during every big race, but keep in mind, they are the MINORITY of people that head to the races. It is mostly blue color and retirees trying their luck and hoping for the best. The place was pretty clean for the most part, and I really enjoyed the large TVs on the wall. The only thing I would do here is update the TVs. They are mostly projection/tube TVs. A little updating and this would be a REALLY cool place to hang out. Either way, I'll definitely return.

The patio area has a panoramic view of all three ninth holes from the Lake Course Pines and the Valley which is picturesque. . The menu has some creative selections of dishes that are plentiful and very good combined with superb service. My favorite is the 19th hole.
