I had a great experience with Mirbek and his crew. I've worked with a lot of crews during my remodel and these guys were by far the best. Mirbek is quick to respond, has good pricing and does amazing work. His crew and him are professional, clean, and easy to work with. When I initially requested a quote, Mirbek came out shortly after. Unfortunately he said he was booked out for a few months but could come in earlier when they have some free time. It's nice to here that he's busy. About a month later he emailed saying that he could work me in earlier. It took his crew 3 days to complete my 12'x10' deck on the second floor. The deck turned out better than expected! They built a simply designed deck but their craftmanship shows. Having experience several crews working on my house, I've noticed all of them end up leaving trash all over the property and house (ie coffee cups, take out boxes, cigarettes etc). I'd have to remind them to pickup after themselves. Some listen, some don't. Mirbek and his crew left no trace of them being here without being asked! Trash, extra material and packaging was cleared from the property. It's small but it shows how respectful they are of other peoples property. It's nice to enjoy the final product without having to do a walk around pickup trash around it. I've haven't hired or recommended any crews that trash my place. Mirbek and crew replaced our failing wood deck with Azek a year ago. We're really pleased with it. Picture speaks for itself. There was a planter that came out and they just built a new one. Note they didn't need to replace the structure. Recently I had Mirbek out to replace the stair treads to the upper deck as the supports were rusting away and he did that too. Mirbek and his team did a really nice job with replacing the wood on our rooftop deck. We have been in our home five years now and have already paid to have the wood refinished once. Rather than hassling with that every couple of years, we decided to upgrade to a composite wood. It's a bit more expensive but can handle the wear (weather and dogs) much better. We found 12 Decks through one of the home contractor sites. Mirbek was quick to reply and came out to give us a quote a couple of days later. The price was very reasonable and they were also able to start much sooner than anyone else we had spoken to (the following week verses several weeks/months). The project took about week and the guys did a great job. Mirbek addressed our concerns about how to handle an area that needed to be leveled so we could lay grass for our dogs. We decided to use the composite decking under the grass that way if the next homeowners want to remove, they have the decking in place. The work they did turned out so well, we decided to make our grass area a bit smaller so more of the wood was exposed. There were a few minor hiccups but Mirbek was fantastic about remedying. Mirbek and his crew are, hands down, THE BEST contractors we've ever hired. Our four decaying decks have been hanging over us for years. We fielded quotes from a dozen or so contractors ranging from handymen to general contractors to deck specialists. Some exaggerated the scope of work, some named outlandish prices, and others clearly had no idea what they were talking about. Enter Mirbek at the end of September like our knight in shining armor. He was on time to the estimate appointment, courteous, responsive to my concerns, and incredibly knowledgeable. On what seemed to be the wettest day of the year, he proactively walked through dense ivy to check on the condition of our framing for an accurate quote. He quickly came back with the most reasonable estimate for labor and a start date in a little over a month (mid-Nov) and we immediately decided to move forward. We chose Trex, for which I found a bulk discount from Lowe's. He sat with me for almost two hours to confirm quantities and tweak design ideas before I placed the order. Three weeks before scheduled start, his assistant ZZ had some extra time and came over to get a head start on the laborious demolition process. Materials arrived in mid-November as planned. Mirbek, Vasily, and ZZ started on the next business day, working tirelessly, through rain, shine, and even the Thanksgiving holiday, to complete our large job in two weeks. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is second to none - every joist waterproofed, every cut meticulous, every seam as tight as can be. On top of that, Mirbek patiently answered our million questions and accommodated a myriad of last minute requests, always with a smile and a can do attitude. They cleaned up the site every night and at the very end, left everything sparkling. We loved working with them so much that we convinced my parents to also redo their aging deck. I started with an idea it included a patio cover, an idea that some deck companies would not approach, or others had a single vendor selling something I didn't want, and a couple I didn't get a good feel for their process. Mirbek was the only one I actually felt good about doing the work. Every aspect from scheduling to finish work was amazing. For aesthetics I really wanted a cedar deck and they made it more gorgeous than I though could be possible, including getting full length boards I didn't know you could even source. They problem solved everything from root issues to old house framing. A couple of follow up tasks like installing a gutter and putting a soffit on the patio cover I ended up handling through him. It seems like he knows someone for anything specialty. The two other crews he put on both of the side jobs were top notch pros in workmanship. If you can get on their schedule, do it. Mirbek and his team were exceeded our expectations, and I wouldn't even consider contacting anyone else next time I need work. We had an old deck in our north Seattle house that was badly finished, and we wanted to replace it with something smaller and low maintenance. Mirbek was patient with us as we went through a few changes on what we wanted, and provided us with multiple quotes for our different requests. When time came to do the work, it was one of the smoothest experiences we've had with contractors in Seattle. Rather than a completely different crew of people, Mirbek was on site the entire time. Our house is up a hill, so it's not the easiest to work on. Not only did they do a great job hauling away everything without trampling our yard, but when the old deck was removed, there were large concrete blocks everywhere from where the last deck company broken up the old stairs and left them in the yard.
