Our air conditioning drain line leaked through the ceiling of the floor below and down the wall of the stairwell. We had to cut out several parts of the ceiling/wall and peel paint off of a lot of the wall because it was bubbling. I contacted Ace Custom Drywall and got a response immediately from Bridget, who looked at the pictures, gave me a price and was able to get us on the schedule for the following day. What blew me away from the start was the communication. She told me that they should arrive around 10am and would be in touch with an ETA in the morning. As promised, I received a text at 9:50am with an ETA of 10:05. At 10:05 they were here. Mike and Bridget are so friendly and the work they do is beyond meticulous. They put plastic sheeting up on the walls and floor before they started working and cleaned up before they left. The walls and ceilings were repaired perfectly and the texture was blended to the rest of the wall seamlessly. We will definitely be calling them again for more projects and will be recommending them to all of our friends.

That is how I ended up with RANDALL CHANCEY DRYWALL. Typically, word of mouth or personal knowledge is the best referral, in my opinion. I purchased a home in a new area, and did not know or have referrals for drywall, texture and paint contractors, so I read a bunch of reviews and interviewed 3 contractors, all with 4.7 ratings or higher. All three were good, all prices were comparable, and I felt comfortable with any of the three. There was a clear first place, but due to scheduling availability, I selected my second choice, Randall Chancey. I'd like to start with the positives. Randall is the BEST at being the WORST. The worst at drywall work, the worst at popcorn removal, the worst at adding knock-down texture and the worst at painting. Randall and his crew were also the MESSIEST workers I have ever seen. I have been a realtor for over 20 years, flipped houses, managed rentals and renovated several of my own homes. I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER had any experience or work product like this in my life. The drywall work was horrible; holes left and painted over; several repairs not done or partially done; holes simply textured and painted; new corner beads (which Randall installed) were not properly mudded in and still visible; and paint inconsistently applied. I specifically mentioned the unfinished drywall work to Randall prior to texture application (holes, skimming corners, etc.) and he told me, he was the drywall expert and, "If I say it's ready for texture, it's ready for texture." The texture is sloppy and inconsistent. Where the popcorn was removed, the seams were not skimmed, so there are visible indentations between drywall sheets, even after texturing. Some popcorn was not removed at all. Randall said he couldn't access some areas - like over cabinets. WOW, never had any contractor say that before. I came by (I lived 90 minutes away at the time) and removed it myself prior to texturing. Another primary component of the job was to remove strips between all drywall panels and mud the seams smooth. Some strips were not removed at all, simply textured and painted over. His crew mixed mud/drywall on my newly painted deck. It is now stained. Randall said, don't worry, the rain will wash it away. WRONG. Same goes for my black driveway, now stained blue, where apparently paint brushes and rollers were cleaned. Although they removed closet shelving, air diverters, and outlet/switch covers - all these items were left uncovered while texturing and painting were done. Some were able to be cleaned and re-used, although very time-consuming. Others, like the air-diverters were so clogged with mud, needed to be replaced. My doors (all of them) were also removed. Same story, and none were labeled, so quite a chore to determine which door fit which frame. AND WHY? Randall did not paint doors or trim, so what was the point? Prep and taping must be new to this "40-yer veteran" of the business - he painted, mudded and textured my sinks, faucets, door hardware, outlets, switches, cabinets, tile floors, tile showers, grout, etc., etc., etc. As far as paint, I supplied Behr premium. But it comes off if you just brush it. Why? DUST. Randall did not cover anything when working, texturing or painting my home. If your walls are covered with dust before you paint them, the new paint, no matter the quality, cannot properly adhere. My floors were so covered, not one panel was salvageable. Full disclosure, at the start of my job, Randall did ask if I was going to replace my floors, I said I was planning to at some point. I didn't realize he would not be covering ANY of them. All my appliances, faucets, fixtures, and even brand-new kitchen cabinets were covered with mud and paint. Multiple light fixtures were broken, so was a smoke detector and some window screens. Randall raised his price twice during the project, making him the most expensive. He brags about his 40+ years in the business but can't properly bid or DO his job. Perhaps he was good at one time and is simply past his prime. After promising to clean up prior to completing his job, he left his entire mess inside and out of my home. And left multiple bags of trash surrounding my entrance door. I had to make three trips to the dump and pay fees on my own. You don't have to take my word for it. A one-week job (all 3 original quotes were for a week, one was 8 days for full disclosure). Randall took almost a month - over 3 and a half weeks. Our master bathroom has been nothing but problems since moving in 5 years ago. It wasn't until Cesar at Miracle Plumbing came in that things started to improve. Using his leak detection services Cesar was able to quickly identify the root cause of the problem that every other plumber and even our home inspector missed. The main stack for plumbing in our home was not only cracked but practically severed in half, causing a major leak and damage to the surrounding wall, frame and floor. Cesar not only provided an estimate to resolve this problem once and for all, but he also pointed out that we could use our home owners insurance to cover the restoration costs that would be involved. Those costs ended up being considerably more than the costs to fix the plumbing issues, and we were obviously very grateful for his insights. While getting new flooring installed we discovered a leak in another bathroom. We immediately called Cesar to take a look. He quickly identified that the issue was a result of improper installation of the wax ring being used on the toilet. A $12 part and proper installation saved not only our new flooring but a lot of headaches down the road. Cesar is the only plumber we will use now. He has been thorough, professional and extremely fair every time we have used him. We would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a plumbing professional that will genuinely care about making you and your home whole again.

We replaced countertops, backsplash and put down premium vinyl planks over the entire 500 square foot area. Also added new sinks/faucets in the kitchen and laundry. Design staff was able to guide us to our final decision of quartz countertops, with waterfall peninsula, slab backsplash and wide plank flooring. We chose Vadara Aurora quartz, with subtle light grey and gold veining. After reviewing many samples, we chose Shaw Fresh Take Shell Taupe 60" x 9" vinyl planks. H2OPlumbing, Joe Phillips Electric, H & H Construction, Stone Boyz and Island Accents did excellent work, arriving on time and cleaning up when they left. The scope of the project expanded when both plumbing and electrical staff found faulty/hazardous work previously done, which was corrected in an efficient manner. Top Gunn chose their trades wisely. All personnel were professional, friendly and gladly answered our many questions. The finished product is better than we had imagined. I would highly recommend Top Gunn for any home remolding projects you might have.
