While in the middle of our trip to Alaska wouldn't you know it. A flat. I managed to get that crummy little donut spare on, but they always tell you to not exceed 80 km/h and don't drive more than 80 kilometers. So we stopped in Williams lake. I happy we did.
Since there was side wall damage, my tire couldn't be repaired. These folks found a used tire with decent tread laying around and replaced it.
While I was waiting I learned all about winter snow tires, all-seasonals, even studs and spikes. They explained the modern day evolution from studs called siping. Never once did they try to sell me anything.
I inquired as to cost and a second set for winter. They recommended a lower cost set that they have had success with in this area. He even wrote out the details for me to check out later down the road.
After putting everything away in its place they handed me the keys. They then told me they were stupid bored and there was no charge.
I hope and pray one day I get back past here. I probably won't. If you have chance to, stop and see these boys. Nice, friendly and they care. They could have taken me to the bank, but I guess that's not their style! 08/22 read more
