Dhawal was so attentive to my family and helped us find the perfect location for our photo shoot. He gave me a few options that matched what I had in mind and he did research in the place I chose to make sure we were capturing the right shots. I wanted family photos with a large number of people and our schedule was crazy but D the photographer worked with me and we figured out how to make it all work. He is so friendly and punctual, he made us all feel very comfortable and happy in front of the camera. D did our engagement photo's and will be doing our wedding photo's this September. I searched around for a long time before I decided to go with 15FIVE18 Photography. My fiancé and I wanted a photographer that could really capture the moment in a photo. A lot of the photographers we looked at talked about how many photo's we would get but quantity was not really what we were looking for. When we spoke to D he was really helpful and professional. He always got back to us quickly and answered all our questions. We looked through his portfolio and loved his photo's. The color's are so vibrant and his ability to capture the subject of the photo is amazing. The engagement session went great. He made it super easy by telling us how to pose, what landscapes would look the best, and everything else. We got the pictures back in about 2 weeks. We were very happy with the images we received and are very excited to see the wedding photo's in September. After how well the engagement photo's went, I feel like I have one less thing to worry about on the wedding day because I know all the pictures will turn out great. You won't believe the quality, price, and customer service. I've made several recommendations since our Christmas card shoot in November, and I would tell anyone about what a wonderful experience we had with 15five18. First, the price is phenomenal. We are college students and could afford the flat rate for a few hours of shooting. The photographer is very accessible and accomodating. We had to change the times and date a few times and he was flexible. Once we met him on our campus, he asked for our input on what we wanted for the shoot (a more modern vibe vs. whimsical). We are total novices and are not the most photogenic people (we totally get embarrassed kissing in front of the camera!) but he worked with us and made the pictures look ah-mazing. Best part? We received a cd full of ALL the images in the mail a few weeks later. It's nice not being forced to purchase expensive prints. Also, we were there for a few hours and the photographer was still not tired! We were the ones saying "I thiink we are good for pictures" but he kept thinking of cool ideas for pictures and I'm glad we stayed. Tired feet be damned I've got some great pics that I'm really happy to have. So, I wouldn't be deterred how you found the photographer if it's Craigslist. That's where we found him and honestly I already feel like any big family occassions we've got a go-to photographer and that's a good feeling. read more

D is wonderful, accommodating, his pictures are so beautiful, natural and he can have fun with you during the shoot. Not to mention the fact that the price is not out of this world like most of the photographers that you find. He absolutely loves what he does and you can really see that. D was very accommodating when it came to meeting my family any where we wanted for our shoot and different times. He gave such great input on what would look great for pictures for my daughter and different pictures for all of us as a family. "D", our photographer, was amazing. We just loved him. It was our two-year anniversary and we wanted to document with some photos. Our year-one photo shoot was done for free by a friend, and we wanted to continue the tradition without breaking the bank. I looked around online for some good, affordable photographers, and boy is it expensive out there! A few hundred dollars for a very limited time slot, extra charge for outfit changes and then you only end up a few select prints of images. This obviously was not appealing. I found D and his company, 15five18, on Yelp, checked out his website which looked good, and shot him a quick email briefly explaining what we wanted and asked about prices. THE PRICE IS AMAZING. Not only that, but what it includes is what sold me. No set time limit on the session at a location of our choosing, he ENCOURAGES outfit changes at no extra cost, and he will send you a disc of about 70-80 of the best images for you to do what you wish with them. He even recommended a good printing place to use. I had assumed that for the low price we would just tell him what we wanted and he'd just show up. I was most definitely wrong. He was incredibly involved in the creative process of where to shoot the photos and how to get just the feel that we wanted. He wanted to make sure everything was to our liking. We met him at balboa fun zone, and got started. He had great ideas for poses that we would not have thought of. It was a give and take of ideas between all of us and he was more than willing to try whatever we thought of. He seemed very knowledgeable of stuff like lighting, angles, etc. We were honestly worn out before he was. Thank god it was starting to get too dark ;) He had great energy and just did not seem to burn out at any time. After the shoot we continued communication, as he emailed us some sample pics to make sure we liked how he was editing them. He is so thorough!! Needless to say, the pictures turned out great. We got along so well with him, and he made the experience very comfortable and laid back. Some photo shoots can be so awkward when a stranger is taking your picture, but not with D. We had a great time, got great pictures, and will definitely be using him in years to come. read more

D took time to get my headshots right - I wanted something work-appropriate but also natural and personal and he nailed it.

As my first wedding anniversary is quickly approaching, I've been spending a lot of time with my photographs. Almost a year ago, after a LOT of searching online, my husband and I chose D as our photographer for both our wedding and engagement in Orange County. With the passing of time, I can say with absolute confidence that his work not only beautifully captured our decorations, our friends, and our family, but they are filled with the love and excitement of that day. When I look back on them, I can't help but smile. Aside from the quality of his work, I want to tell you what makes D such a joy to work with. He, as a person, is authentic. Throughout the process, I never felt like I was interfacing with the cold manner of a business. He made us comfortable, and I think it shows in our photographs. There are so many amazing candid examples during our ceremony where he managed to capture our feelings and our hopes for that day. And during the entire process he was never invasive and never hovering. I have been to plenty of weddings where the bride and groom spend more time posing for the photographer than enjoying the moment. D seamlessly integrated himself into our event as if he was part of the fabric. Friends and family could talk to him candidly, and many of them commented on his friendliness and professionalism. Even my mother, who dreads photographs more than anything, felt fine working with D. For my husband and I, working with him during the engagement shoot made our wedding so much easier -- we already knew what we needed to do and it didn't feel like working with a stranger. In fact, it felt like we had known him for years. In terms of the final images, one thing that I appreciate is that D's photographs do not look over-processed. They are bright and embrace the color of the environment without slapping a bevy of filters on top. We look real. I think these photographs will stand the test of time, and have a classic quality to them that isn't dependent on the latest fad. He mailed us our images on a DVD after we moved out of state in high and low res versions. In celebration of our anniversary, I am using these photographs to design our own wedding album, and I've been reliving everything all over again. If you decide to work with D, my advice is to listen to him. He knows what he is talking about. I wish I had budgeted more time for photographs as he suggested. We originally thought of booking him for 6 hours, and went with 7. But we could have easily had him for 8. We were working on a tight student budget in Orange County (not easy to do), but D was affordable with his rates and the extra hour was worth it. He was never pushy on the phone, and took his time with us. I would recommend him to anyone. For your own reference: we had a small-ish afternoon wedding (45 people), and our ceremony and reception were at the same venue. D was the photographer for our wedding and he really did a fantastic job. On his own accord he set up 3 meetings prior to our event and was extremely thorough with scouting the venue and making sure the lighting and other technicalities were met. He came to our rehearsal to meet our family and have prior knowledge as to who he needed to focus on and take photos of. He asked a lot of questions and made absolutely sure my husband and I both were getting the package we wanted. On the wedding day, he arrived prepared and on time and was professional and cool while dealing with all the colorful personalities at the event. Knowing my fiance is more inclined to purchase a product or services after obtaining more information, I first interviewed "D" over the phone and then scheduled another in person appointment so he can get to know "D", the photographer. My finance has backgrounds in optics and studied camera, other lens, and lighting. He and "D" hit it off. "D" is intelligent and knowledgeable about his camera equipments. After the meeting, my honey complimented that I did a great job finding "D" and my finance was sure that his guy is going to do a great job during our photo shoot. INDEED!
