POS COMPANY. SCAM ARTIST…read more This garage is an absolute scam. When entering, no ticket was issued. When exiting, there was no kiosk, no QR code, no phone number, and no payment instructions whatsoever. The only sign stated "pay by phone," yet no phone number or QR code was provided. There was also no attendant or staff member available for assistance. I called the phone numbers listed on the website multiple times--one number was disconnected, and the other went directly to a towing company. At that point, my only option was to leave and wait for a ticket to arrive in the mail, which I knew would happen. That is completely unacceptable. This garage is clearly designed to trap drivers who reasonably assume payment will be straightforward, when in reality there is no way to pay at all. After receiving the ticket, I called the number provided and was placed in a 20-person queue, where it was obvious everyone was calling for the same issue. When I finally spoke with a representative to dispute the charge, I was told, "If there were no directions on how to pay, then why did you stay?" That response alone shows how fundamentally broken and predatory this operation is. This is not user error -- it is a deceptive system designed to penalize drivers with no clear method of compliance.

Entering and exiting the parking garage at Independence Plaza is a big pain. The ramp is long and steep with hairpin turns at the bottom. The numerous scrapes on the wall attest to the degree of difficulty. There is also a good chance that you will bottom out your car if it has limited clearance. The interior of the parking garage is enough to make you feel like a rat in a maze. Pedestrian access is not easy. Re-entry to the building in the later hours is very tricky if you have not done it before. NOTE: Per Rock Bottom Brewery . . . "Parking is validated in the Independence Plaza garage (directly under the restaurant) after 3pm Monday - Friday and ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday"

Parking here is like being consigned to the seventh circle of hell! That's the circle where…read moresinners are boiling in a river of blood and fire. The garage is poorly ventilated and it feels like it's 80-90 degrees. Wear light, loose-fitting clothes and deodorant if you set foot in here. My first time in I had a hard time finding the entrance because it's so poorly marked--and because of the 16th street mall and all the one-way streets downtown it is a pain to circle the block. On one occasion the entrance gate was out of tickets--and someone pulled up behind me, making it a huge hassle to back up and try the other gate. On a Sunday morning it's difficult to get into the garage--all the doors to the building are locked and I had to circle the block until I found a door with an intercom. On my final day the exit gates were not accepting credit cards! I tried four different cards in both machines. I tried the intercom (there's no attendant on duty, not even on a weekday morning during business hours) and could barely hear or understand the person. After ten minutes I gave up and paid cash--but didn't have exact change so ended up with a handful of 15 dollar coins in change. I should have had 16, but one fell on the ground and I was worried about the gate lowering before I could get out... so yeah, I guess someone got a tip. The rates here are very reasonable, which is probably the only thing this place has going for it. Hopefully you will have better luck than I.
