I have been going to 180 Kettlebell gym for 2 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. As business owners, Jodi and Todd Molitor are fantastic to work with. They communicate well and will work with you on whatever you need. 180 has fabulous trainers who really get to know the class participants. They figure out what YOU need from them whether it is encouragement, pressure to push yourself harder or just simple instruction. They keep the workouts fresh and new so you don't ever get bored. The exercises are varied and include kettlebells, ropes, TRX, and a large variety of other tasks. The best part is the sense of community at the gym. The other participants as well as the trainers support each other and offer the best reinforcement you can get. If you miss a class, they welcome you back and you truly feel accepted. 180 Kettlebells is the only gym I have been able to stick with. I attend 3-4 times a week and truly miss it if I don't. I highly recommend giving it a try. Don't give up the first week because I can guarantee you will be sore! (in a good way) read more

Hello, My name is Jodi Molitor and I am the owner of 180 Kettlebell Gym & Fitness. My journey into kettlebells started from a back injury that I couldn't find relief from. Physical Therapy, chiropractor, massage, prescription medicine, nothing gave me relief. I stumbled into a kettlebell class being held in a local nutrition supplement store back room one day after a physical therapy session, and within 2 weeks I was rehabbed and hooked on kettlebells. So I researched the best place to become a certified kettlebell instructor and ended up going out to Rhode Island to Anthony Dilugilio's certification program. I first started teaching classes at the nutrition store where I was rehabbed, then when it closed I started in the backyard by inviting friends from the neighborhood to workout with me (Jodi Molitor the owner of 180). In the winter we would workout in my basement! It grew to 17 people and we needed a place larger than my house could provide. Let it begin.

Meet the Business Owner: Jodi M.

I have done everything to manage my weight, swimming, running, roller blading, diets, and after three kids I was at the end of my frustration. I stumbled into a kettlebell class by accident ? by design?? (read History above) The results were phenomenal. In 2 weeks my back pain /injury was gone and the strength I gained quickly was amazing. My body started changing after the first three weeks and kept changing. It was exhilarating having inches leave never to return. I had more energy, was happier, and was even buying a whole new wardrobe! I discovered the missing key... Kettlebells are a total body tool and are great for working the big core muscles, glutes, quads, lats. The stronger these muscles are, the more energy they require to run. This turns our body into a fat burning furnace. More muscle = less fat and the kettlebell with its off-centered center of gravity was just the tool for this job. My passion is to share this gift/key with others like myself.

As a 3 year, long standing, fully paid member (nearly $4,000 in total), my husband and I signed him up for a 10 week session. Days later our son's hockey schedule was released and it was clear that we both would not be able to make it to class as often as the program recommends. We notified ownership that we both could not make the class times and I was asked not to move my membership (I was on a month-to-month basis and could do so without any binding contract) to a neighboring gym with an open format (Fitaholic Fitness) but that they would "figure out a solution" for my family and convinced me to stay on as a member. I gave them several months to credit me the 10 week fee until I realized that this was a complete lie. In fact, once I finally notified the gym about my cancellation, they continued to charge me even 3 months after I had no longer attended! I have consulted both the BBB and the MN Attorney General about this location and they recommended I begin the Conciliation Court process, share my experience on social media sites by review and collect other people's experiences to hopefully achieve resolution with them. In the end, we lost money despite our efforts to make changes before the session started and instead enrolled him at Fitaholic Fitness where he had a great experience! My recommendation would be to attend a gym where the owners really show they care about their member's lives rather than just say it. Worst of all, I really thought these people were my friends but in the end it came down to their greed for money.

I cannot explain how powerful this experience has been for them - it has made them more confident, attentive, disciplined, and courageous. This is not a belt-mill, where the school basically just pushes kids through the system to charge as much as they can as quickly as they can. Every belt level, and every stripe on each belt is earned through hard work, dedication, and testing. Enrolling was inexpensive, and we were never pressured into any program. We chose a program after it was obvious my two daughters were really having fun and learning a ton. Eventually, the girls decided that they wanted to go for their black belts and I couldn't be prouder of them. The new studio is quickly taking shape, and the owners and staff are extremely dedicated. The head instructor, Stan Riser, is an amazing human being. While he demonstrates a great sense of humor - his instruction is serious and his teaching methods are beyond reproach. As the girls rose in belt levels everything got more intense, interesting, and more fun for them. UMA Centerville participates in many tournaments throughout the year (and encourages their students to compete) and some of my most amazing memories are of their performance in these competitions. We tried two different schools before we found this one, and we are lifers - the girls still love to go as much as their schedules allow. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about having their children, or themselves, study martial arts to come in a watch a class or two and see what you think. I believe you will be impressed.

I have ran, biked, roller-bladed, walked, swam...all in effort to stay in shape & for love of exercise/sports. I can honestly say I thought I use to give myself a decent work out....that was until I joined 180 Kettlebell Gym. This gym redirected my efforts in a meaningful and supportive manner. Now... 3 hours a week is my schedule. I go for 1 hour on M/W/F. This mere 3 hours per week sets my metabolism in high gear and gives me the strength I need to chase my 5 and 3 year olds. (Not to mention the ability to fit back into my pre-prego clothes!) I still enjoy my outdoor sports, but at a new level. I have more strength now than I ever had before. I have been going for 3 years...only 3 hours a week. I have worked up to some higher weights...and at age 41, I was definitely humbled this morning by a few gals that are a few years older than me. I love it because it impresses me with how much I can still gain to achieve more agility, strength & endurance....and yet makes me feel proud with how far I have come. This gym is about support and helping everyone achieve what they want to achieve. No fear. No embarrassment. No egos. Lots of support, instruction, and energy. It is personal. Before I use to love being lost in the crowd. But, honestly, that got me no where. The classes are in a group setting and everyone is helpful, friendly and encouraging. And lastly, I LOVE that I don't have to think about what I am doing. Jodi has it all written up on the board and guides the hour so I just have to move and work. I show up, I work-out hard and I leave....I put full trust that they are managing the different muscle groups and keeping my body confused so that I get the most out of each hour. I appreciate the workouts more than the owners could ever know. It has set the stage for my healthier life as I enter my 40s and beyond. That is something I can't thank them enough for. Jodi and Todd of 180 Kettlebell Gym take so much pride in making sure that no matter your fitness level when you arrive, you will for sure be in a much better place after attending. They take personal interest in you achieving your ultimate goals by addressing everything from diet to a huge variety of fun and challenging workouts focusing on proper technique to avoid injury. The others attending the gym are very supportive and fun to work out with. There are events that you can participate in that help to support other causes such as MS and Sweat Angels. Jodi is awesome not many people offer this type of workout you need a special certification. It is the type of workout only those who are serious about training well stick with and you WILL see results. I'm a local firemen and I need kettle bells to keep up my endurance level plus i increase strength. I also ref hockey games and to keep up with the speed and incredible pace of hockey games it is a prefect fit for me. kettle bells allows you to train at any level and any age with the care of a personal trainer who is always encouraging and supportive. I started at the keetlebell gym spring of 09 to get ready for my 30 year class reunion. I had not been in a gym or at a workout class in many, many years and was quite scared. But Jodi, starts you out at a level you can handle and know when to bump you up to a new weight. I left the gym sweaty and feeling like "wow, I did it" I like that we are all there for the same reason and at different levels all supporting each other and having fun, all the while we are getting into shape. have been exercising for a number of year and my past workouts have included running ,walking, and most recently group classes (Body Pump, Spin, RIPPED) at the Lino Lakes YMCA. While I have enjoyed these classes and felt that I was getting a good workout, 180 Kettlebell pushes me to a level I have not been pushed to in the past. Every class is challenging and most often kicks by butt - in a good way! Jodi and the other instructors are awesome and each class feel like personal training session. This gym is amazing. If you want a work out that is actually fun and produces results this is where you need to go. The trainers are amazing and work great with any skill level. When you leave the gym you actually can't wait to go back. This training is functional and combines strength and cardio into one program - the best strength training program I have ever been a part of.
