When the spa first opened, I was thrilled to have local alternative to driving into Atlanta. After living in McDonough for 45 years, The Honeycomb Cottage quickly became one of my favorite spots. Even after moving, I continued to visit and maintained a membership for over a year and a half. I eventually paused my membership because I had accumulated several unused credits, planning to use those up before restarting. Unfortunately, a series of frustrating experiences has made me decide not to return at all: * I once arrived for a facial and waited over 30 minutes past my appointment time. I later overheard staff discussing that the aesthetician hadn't shown up and couldn't be reached. Another team member eventually worked me in. * On another visit, my niece and I scheduled facials together. Once again, one of the aestheticians didn't show up, causing delays and confusion. * At another visit, my massage appointment was canceled shortly before my scheduled time due to the therapist having car trouble. While I understand that things happen, I was rescheduled for the following day--only to arrive and find that I wasn't on the schedule. Thankfully, a therapist happened to still be there and kindly stayed to do the massage, even though he was about to leave. * I also once scheduled a HydraFacial, only to learn upon arrival that the machine was broken. I wasn't notified in advance, which was frustrating since the spa enforces a 24-hour cancellation policy but didn't extend the same courtesy to me. This seems to be a common problem and the appointment should have never been scheduled due to it being broken. * When trying to call to make an appointment you have to call several times before getting someone to answer the phone and help. I also tried reaching out to the business about these concerns. It took several weeks of follow-up calls before I finally received a response. They seemed to not really care and make excuses for the actions of the spa taking no blame or ownership of the actions. After they finally got back to me, I was told they would give me a free service, but when I arrived, they had no record of it. Fortunately, I had the email where I was told this. I did use the credit but this was not something that magically makes their actions ok. I hope the spa will improve the client experience going forward. I loved The Honeycomb Cottage in its earlier days and would love to see it return to that standard of reliability and care. Unfortunately, based on my recent experiences, it feels as though the staff and management don't prioritize communication or accountability the way they once did.

Upon arrival you're greeted by the front desks attendants. They walk you to the back and show you around if it's your first time. Your rope and sandals are located in a locker with your name in it. After changing you chose your code to lock your locker. The showers have clean towels and complementary shaving kits. Afterwards you're walked to the relaxation room. At the relaxation room they have complementary snacks, water and tea for you to relax in before you're called in for your massage. Our therapists were really nice and professional. We felt really well taken care of. After your massage you can go back to the relaxation room or be walked to the locker room. The facility was exceptional. Everything was stocked and really clean.
