I met with Ray at 4 Brothers and I asked quite a few questions to gauge how knowledgeable he was and his approach on the project. The roofline would require a few complex angles and structural changes. Ray understood what it would take and pointed out several improvements for the build that would save money and add value to the project. We agreed and signed a contract. The carpenters began the work on Saturday and in 6 hours have the walls and joists up. The work continued on Monday. Adian, Juan, Homer and the crew were very fast and efficient with materials. They listened to my concerns and were very supportive. They got them whole job done by Tuesday, on time and on budget and cleaned up the site. I've had several friends over since and they were really impressed with the build quality and thoroughness. It's really nice when you show off your project and the Monday morning quarterbacks can't make any comments on how this or that should have been done better. In fact, they were so impressed they wanted 4 Brothers contact info for their own stuff. If you're a low grade DIYer like me, you want help for big jobs but you may have concerns about the honesty, craftsmanship, and communication of a builder. Expecting the usual good service I contacted them over a leak near one of the vents in my roof causing damage to my kitchen ceiling. They sent a young man down to examine the situation, and after a cursory look said he would send an estimate and could take care of the problem. Interestingly he was reluctant to go into the attic where you could clearly see the problem ( I think he was concerned he might get dirty as he was smartly dressed). It has now been 10 days and nothing has been sent. Several phone calls to the office have been met with assurances it would be sent (though the tone of the individual who answered the phone made me feel I was not being taken seriously). It is really a shame when a company who has previously been very good declines like this. As an additional note I noticed they have three Yelp sites, two with bad reviews and one with positive reviews - I intend to post this note to all three.

I would want to mention the group I spoke with, but the person who gave the quote, the scheduler and roofer were all great to work with! (And I can't remember the roofers name!! But he was great! They even take photos after they complete the work! Very reasonable in price as well.
