Not only did he appear to be completely bothered to be working, but you could tell something made him upset and he clearly chose to take it out on us this night. It was very unfortunate as it made us very uncomfortable and turned the whole experience into a negative one. I asked a question about an item on the desert menu since it wasn't listed and he responded with "what I mentioned earlier....." and paused as if I was going to magically remember what flavors he had said until he eventually repeated the options to me. My husband caught his tone and immediately was upset after this. Also a fruit fly had flown into my friends drink which is not only gross but not our fault and when asking if he could have at least that dumped out and the same amount poured into it since it was on ice he said well that's basically water now and then said but okay sure whatever and walked away. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry I would have been absolutely mortified to speak to people this way and then to return to the table and show my face again. It was very disappointing. We wanted to speak to a manager but also wanted to get out as fast as we could as well. However we did keep the receipt to make sure we had his name. I hope he is okay because clearly something was making him very sour. Poor guy. I DO NOT recommend.

We found the five course tasting menu to be interesting, but neither my wife nor I found the food to be delicious or memorable. Quality ingredients were top notch and the preparation and plating excellent, but we just didn't care for the flavors or combinations that came out. We expect when we get a tasting menu to have a few dishes that might miss the mark for us -- that's sort of the point. You're exploring the chef's ideas and dishes. It's strange when none of the dishes really hit with our palates and we travel all over the world in search of amazing food and dining experiences. To make matters somewhat worse, we did the wine pairing and oftentimes with the courses we found the wine did not pair incredibly well with the plates. Further, when the wine was served we never saw a bottle once and were never told about the winery, the vintage, etc. -- only the type of wine it was and what flavors we could expect. We've never had that before with a wine pairing. We encourage the chef to continue to explore his palate, creativity, and imagination and we look forward to the possibility of coming back again some time in the future to see how this chef and menu may have evolved.

I had the grilled chicken with toasted quinoa salad. The portion size was massive, and it was a very good mix of flavors and textures. I've never had quinoa toasted in this way before. My wife had the risotto with braised beef cheek (so tender!), roasted oyster mushrooms, veal demi-glace, and parmesan. Unctuous and umami. I had the Bucatini -- blue crab with anchovy butter and red pepper pesto. I'm a sucker for anchovies and the anchovy butter, once stirred into the pasta, was absolutely delicious and really complimented the crab. A truly savory and decadent treat.
