I called in a take out order: my wife had the Southwest Eggrolls and I had the chicken tenders and fries. I can't speak to the eggrolls, but she said they were "wonderful". So wonderful that they were done before I could get a picture! How much can you make tenders your own? Roosters Too! manages. The tenders are lightly breaded chicken breasts that are sliced and tenderized before being battered in the same type of batter you usually see on walleye shore lunches. This made the tenders "tender" as well as having a light batter which complimented the chicken rather than overwhelms it. The bartenders were super friendly, outgoing and polite, when I came in to pick up the order. Side note: we've been there for brunch several times and their breakfasts are outstanding as well. Me and my wife has been going there for a couple of months we get the same thing she gets a salad and i get a salad with chicken and we get two beers tonight we got there at 6:00pm ordered quick as usual got our beers and the waited till 6:48 almost got up and left my wife's salad was missing the tomatoes and she ordered Italian dressing and got ranch my salad i ordered with chicken and extra blue cheese I didn't have any chicken and got something other than blu cheese we told the waiter he said he was sorry and left I ate my salad less the chicken and my wife ate about a half we paid and left $38 we will be looking for a new place to eat read more

Service at this location is superior to the northern location. Food is terrific, similar to the northern store. Their chicken is excellent and since the bar and grill on 3rd closed years ago, they are the only ones left to my knowledge to cook and fry their chicken in the manner that they do, extra crispy. read more

What a fabulous experience! Jax was the most polite, well spoken young man. Knowledgeable and friendly, he's a great addition to your team. I have enjoyed their chicken and other dishes numerous times. I highly recommend their take out over their dine in as their dine in wait times for chicken can exceed 30 min. The chicken thighs are more consistent than their legs or wings when it comes to being succulent and not dry. Since it is broasted chicken it does not keep very well imo so I recommend eating it as soon as you can. I have tried many of their other dishes and most are ok. Their breakfast is a good option, however I do wish they served their hollandaise after 12pm. Since they do not, I find myself favoring other options. Ate here last night for the first time in years. The only reason we went was to watch a friend playing pool. I will never order food here again. I ordered a battered chicken sandwich and fries, nasty is how it turned out. Both the sandwich and fries tasted like fish, probably haven't changed the oil in a long time and the chicken and fries were overcooked. I walked here from my hotel to have breakfast. It wasn't too early. It was Sunday. I noticed they serve breakfast till noon on Sundays. I received great service from Stephanie! An excellent server on a busy Sunday late morning/early afternoon. I ordered a breakfast burrito which said it was NEW on the menu. It had a good mixture of beef, tater tots, egg, cheese, and anything else I forgot to mention. As sides, they gave me salsa, Pico de Gallo, and sour cream. This burrito was very filling and was a meal in itself just as their menu said! I am allergic to onions, so I had them put the Pico on the side so I can still pick them out and eat the diced tomatoes and jalapeños on the burrito. I had cranberry juice to drink. I stayed here a while, and the juice was refillable!!! Stephanie even gave me the last one to go without me even having to ask! I enjoyed the BarN atmosphere, and it was neat watching the football games. It was also a cool interior, simply decorated. This place was close to the hotel I was staying at so I thought I would give a try. I placed my order for pickup and it was ready when I arrived. The people I dealt with were very friendly and provided good customer service. I hadn't had lunch and this was dinner time so I was real hungry and I ordered the Hog Heaven sandwich. Pretty fun place to grab lunch and hang out. Prices are reasonable and the food, while pretty standard pub fare, is good and the portions generous. My favorite menu item here is probably the nachos. Whenever I'm in town with my son, we usually make a stop at this place. It's not too far from our hotel and they have pool tables, which is a rarity in the area. The last time we visited, the place was packed, probably due to some event that had just ended. Normally, it's easy to get a pool table, but on that particular day, we had to wait for someone to leave before we could play. Overall, it's an average spot for drinks and pool. We've eaten here a few times, but the food is nothing special, just typical bar fare. read more

Walk in and the place is only a quarter full. Sign reads wait to be seated. Two people behind the bar look at us; no smile, no hello, nothing. We continue waiting. Staff walks by, no greeting from any of them. Bartenders look at us several times, still nothing. Finally get seated. Bartender walks over to wait on us, really no greeting, not friendly. We have spent enough time in here to see he gives great service and greetings to others. The only positive experience the entire time was the young man that brought out our food, he was very friendly. Food was good. But being treated poorly makes this a no for me. They seem to only like and appreciate the regulars. So if you are not a regular, good luck. read more

Soooo glad we tried it despite the rating is has. The popcorn was movie quality. My daughters burger was very good, my husbands chicken was amazingly juicy and flavorful, my chicken salad was great, and the bread that it comes with was the best bread I've had in my entire life! On top of the great good, our waitress was so kind and joyful and so were the other waitresses with their tables. It felt like they were serving us out of their home with love. The place looked busy. Most tables were full with a few large groups, so we expected some delays. It took a few minutes before we were acknowledged by the bartender that it would be a couple minutes. The hostess came around a couple minutes later and asked if we preferred a high top or regular table. We opted for the regular and were told she had to clean a couple off. No problem, they were busy. Meanwhile, bartender noticed us again waiting and offered us a seat at the bar. We let him know we were about to be seated. My wife ordered the cheese curds, after being told the portion size. I ordered the two piece chicken with fries and coleslaw. We were told that the chicken order would take 20-25 minutes. We opted for the curds to be an appetizer. We were offered popcorn while we waited for our order as well. The cheese curds were very good. My chicken order was delivered in the time frame the waitress told us. My chicken tasted alright. It was cooked alright as well. I can't complain really, it just that my local grocery store's broasted chicken is more flavorful. I'll boost the rating up to 4 basted on excellent service in the wake of some large groups before us. Based on flavor I would have given it a 3. Not disappointed, but didn't really meet my expectations. I've read reviews of great flavor, which I guess I wouldn't agree (not bad, in my opinion, but not great). The second trip yielded much better service. The meal arrived in under 10 minutes and the place was packed! I ordered a burger this time and was very pleased. The thick burger had great taste. I certainly left with a full stomach. I can never get enough of the tater barrels (tots). I order the "Pig Pile" Burger. The pork enhanced the taste and the BBQ sauce added to the flavor. The pork was a bit slim but enough to change the taste of a regular bacon cheese burger. The place has lots of variety on the menu and I will visit again. Great food awesome staff and clean place. This looks like it would be a fun all day any time sports bar with lots of TVs all over, but I ended up here at 10 am on my way to the airport. Their omelets were really good I thought, and the ingredients were definitely fresh. The service staff was super friendly and accommodating, and even gave me a discount for telling me an incorrect price out of their own pocket, which i left on top of my tip. The bacon is sooo good, I mean bacon is always good, but theirs is tasty and the has browns, I am ready for more. I would most certainly recommend this place! read more

Went for a large party last night. Didn't eat any food just had drinks. Our server Sam or Sammi was sweet and helpful. She let us know that two people called out and they were short staffed. She was helpful and got us what we needed. Some of the people in the group had been drinking for awhile so she was probably sick of us but didn't show it haha! My only complaint is there was some really rude, really short dude who kept literally barking at our group to get back to the party room. We've been eating here since they opened. Usually the food is great but there are some issues I wish they'd fix. They have the best onion rings but on a recent take-out order, we got a batch that had been sitting around for a while. They were shriveled and barely warm. We paid full price for them, shouldn't we get fresh food? Second, all deep fried food is always dripping with grease. It's disgusting and not necessary. Adjust the temp of your oil. Tonight my beer-battered shrimp were under-cooked. The batter was a light color and gooey inside - yuck. The tater barrels I ordered turned out to be french fries and they skimped on the amount of cole slaw. Hope they care about customer feedback! read more

Disclaimer: was only there for breakfast. I would start by saying the service was as expected, the food was appropriate size for the dollar but just skip the coffee. I have the impression of water-down, lack of flavor coffee should be expected at cheap greasy-spoon restaurants, dirty truck stops and shifty interstate gas stations. And if the business wants to rank themselves as one of those, they are on their way. D&R Star coffee was their brand. For the price they charge for a bottomless cup, the business may want to quit being cheap and kick it up a notch. read more

For those who've never had or don't like broasted chicken, Roosters Too is just another sports bar, which is not in-and-itself bad, the far SE side of town could use more restaurants (it's located in the Shoppes on Maine on South Broadway) and it was a great place to watch the Cubs clinch the series. But if you're new to or already like the delicious style (which though it sounds like a combination of broiled and roasted seems to be fried yet amazingly the breasts manage to remain moist) you won't find anything better within driving distance (options further from Rochester: Liberty's Restaurant & Lounge in Red Wing, and Hager Heights Drive In across the river in Wisconsin). And if the chicken isn't enough, there's something special about those little biscuits. Eat in or take out, the chicken's great and worth the trip. This was my first time there. I'd probably go back and give it a second chance but.... I'd maybe only drink and have appetizers. I for sure wouldn't get the same sandwich. My turkey melt had more ham than turkey (ham was not included on the menu description so imagine my surprise), the bottom piece of toast was soggy and falling apart, and there was way too much goopy sauce. The fries were soggy and not hot. Actually, the plate itself was hotter than the food, leading me to believe it sat in the window under the heat lamps for a while. Our server was nice, but not super attentive. Mostly, the 3 waitresses on duty stood around chatting, which didn't bother me considering it wasn't busy at all, but then there is no excuse for why our food wasn't brought out right away. Their menu is HUGE which could be part of their downfall. In my opinion, its better to have fewer options and do them really well, than to have a million options and have them only taste so-so. If I were to go back and eat a meal, I'd probably try chicken which is supposedly what they're known for. I've heard okay things about breakfast there, and really, breakfast is pretty hard to screw up. Rooster's Too! is a great addition! My husband and I frequently visited the original Rooster's until we had a few less than good dinner experiences. We decided to try Rooster's Too one night before a movie and both agreed it's way better than he original!
