Really disappointed with this complex. I paid the application fee, they ran my credit, and then completely ghosted me for days with no follow-up at all. They even acknowledged my situation and promised to rush the process, but never actually did. The website hours are misleading -- they're not open for tours Tuesday or Wednesday, and Sundays are closed for everything. The phones never get answered, and it honestly feels like they screen calls and only reply when they want to. The staff were nice when I asked about tours, but that's about where the good experience ended. The pictures look amazing, but don't get your hopes up -- communication and follow-through are seriously lacking. I have yet to tour. read more

It's impossible to get hold of someone from the leasing office. I am relocating from out of town, so I have been trying to arrange apartment tours and have called at least 3-5 times for two days in a row. No one answered. I then emailed. Of course, they called me when I was walking through airport security. I told them I would call them right back. Called at least 3x again, no response. Email- no response... I decided not to tour. Unfortunately the drug addiction situation here has gotten out of control. Great location to live if you like to have your car broken into, people stretched out on sidewalk when you go get groceries at Target or stop in to BevMo. Also they like to harass you for your dinner " hey man, whatcha got there? Got a dollar" No I don't have a dollar, i am broke as hell and can barely afford my dinner, but sure, ask me for it and then yell after me when I say no. I lived here for a year and a half or so and it was a good experience overall. 4.5/5 The building is nice and the people are chill and friendly. Management is super cool, maintenance is fast and nobody ever bothers you. It's also very quiet (except for the train - see below). I rarely heard any noise of my neighbors in all my time here, but you can hear hallway noise through the front door which is pretty natural for apartments. The parking situation is a nightmare, though. They have parking on the 2nd floor but it was never available during my time here. Otherwise for $150/mo. you can get a parking spot in one of the remote parking nearby, which are pretty awful unless your lucky to get one behind the building. And when I say awful, one of my parking spots bordered 3 trash dumpsters (gross) and another one was in a parking lot that was frequented by drugged up homeless people. If you're having people over they have to pay metered parking outside the building before 8pm (including weekends). You can have them park on I street in one of the hourly, non-metered spots but it's still a pain in the ass nonetheless. Having a few guest parking spots would have been impractical I'm sure but a godsend for residents. The neighborhood is also a mixed bag and filled with a lot of homeless people, so get used to seeing them around the building and nearby streets. It's not a great area to look at it, but it's ripe with cool places to eat and a local farmers market on Saturday right outside the building (very convenient and fun). You take the good with the bad I guess. That being said, grocery shopping is super easy with a Target nearby and the Natural Foods Co-Op a mile and a half away. The worst thing about the building, though, is the lack of nearby high-rise buildings. There is simply no respite from the sun. If you're facing East, prepare to melt 6 months out of the year from the nuclear blast of the sun. It's blinding and absolutely scorching. On a summer day I would wake up to a thermostat reading 80+ degrees by 10am. One time I returned from a trip during summer and it was (I'm not joking) 91 degrees in my apartment. You can not, and I stress, can not open your window in an east facing apartment for half the year. Black out curtains are a MUST. The AC units work good but I've never been a fan of the combination of molten radiating heat from windows and artic chilled air from the AC. It's just not comfortable. 19J doesn't have any buildings, or trees or anything shading the sun from the East and I recall many summer nights being hot and cold at the same time from the combination of AC and lingering summer heat. Also, the sun blasts the lobby all day in the summer and it's pretty gross coming into the building without AC. *Also, management, you guys need to start temperature controlling the lobby (and the laundry room - it's suffocating in there in the summer and freezing in the winter). The other issue for east (and south/north) facing apartments is the train. I didn't think it would be such a big deal but it was hellacious. The 19th street train comes barreling right past the building multiple times a day and often the train lasts 5-10 minutes. The train is known to last 10+ minutes with large hauls. It's loud even with the windows closed and with them open, well you can imagine. There's also delivery trucks that park on the corner of 19&J by the Starbux and deliver supplies to nearby buildings. They leave the engine running and the noise and bangs of dollies can last up to 30 minutes. This happened every single night. Beside the heat and the noise it was a good living experience and I could recommend living here if your windows face any other direction than East. read more

This is by far the nicest building in Sacramento. I've lived here at 19J for over 2 years. The staff is so kind and have always made us feel welcomed. They are so quick to respond to questions that come up and go out of their way to make sure the living experience is enjoyable. They really care about making sure residents are taken care of, even when it comes to small items, which is a huge reason why we decided to stay. The apartments themselves are incredible. We live in a corner one bedroom and our favorite feature of our apartment are the several floor to ceiling windows that bring so much light into every corner of our home. The views of Midtown from our apartment are beyond what I imagined it to be. We looked at other apartment buildings in midtown but the views, quality and their amenities didn't even come close to what 19J offered. They even have two rooftops and the views from the top are seriously the best I've ever seen of Sacramento. It's so nice to be able to go up there anytime we want to watch the sunset. To end off, the location of 19J is in the center of everything and couldn't be better. The neighborhood is so walkable and it's right next to all of the best restaurants and the midtown farmers market on weekends. No update as of today 3-15-2020 on street parking for residents .... hmm.. to live in this beautiful building, but offer no street parking is ridiculous!!! You need a car in Sacramento this is not NY or SF.... No street parking passes available through city and no guest parking passes makes no sense!! The reason I gave it 2 stars is because again there is NO guest parking passes for Friends.... This place will not get any new residents with this issue... Sorry, I loved this building and location, but NO parking is a huge, huge mistake... The owner should of thought of this before building in beautiful Sacramento. I am a yelp Elite and I have had several people from SF who reach out and wanted to relocate here, but they were concerned stated that they cannot get a K pass to park if they were to move to this building. YES ..that is true NO street passes for residents. Again, huge mistake for building a beautiful, gorgeous building and offering no street passes or visitor passes. This building will remain empty until the owner comes up with 175 parking K passes. Sorry wanted to love this place. read more

Love everything about 19J! My experience here has been first class since the day I toured. The staff has always been kind, helpful, and professional. They always go above and beyond to make their residents feel at home and taken care of each and every day. I moved into a studio apartment and it has been so much fun! The space may seem small on paper, but there is a ton of storage and the floorplan is perfect. I love the community spaces too! First of all, parking on I & 19th is free and nobody ever gets tickets even without a K parking pass (unless it's street cleaning day) so to anybody giving low ratings cause of one element of the whole experience, get over your "elite" self. This is a Yelp page for an apartment building, not a parking lot. I know parking is important, but it shouldn't be the dealbreaker for the whole place. Sounds like anybody bitching about parking had a bad day and just had to vent. And for that, I feel bad for you. Certainly your concerns are valid, but your attitude is trash. Secondly, this place is great! Super friendly and helpful staff. The community kitchen is amazing! All the patios and rooftop areas are great to hang out at. The staff is always super responsive to maintenance requests (which is minimal). My wife and I always feel safe here. Great location for walking around to everywhere we wanna go. The building is always super clean. The Envoy cars are extremely helpful and easy to use. The staff has thrown a handful of little parties for the residents and they're always fun! These units are practically soundproof so that's cool. I love the open floorplan cause it makes it easy to decorate and feel a lot bigger than it is. As a minimalist, I don't need much stuff anyway. Side note: Just realized it's a bit ironic mentioning how I'm a minimalist but have a ton to say lol Anyway, TL;DR, Yelp elite folks complaining about parking are out of their mind. Great staff. My experience with 19J has been great from start to finish. I checked out basically every single apartment in Midtown and went with 19J for a few reasons. 1 - The floor plans. They're incredibly open, the kitchens are perfect, and space is used efficiently overall. From the marble countertops to the gorgeous hardwood floors, literally everything is top of the line. 2 - The living experience. This starts with the management. They're all incredibly professional and never hesitate to help out in any way possible. 19J also has a partnership with a company that does grocery delivery, cleaning, and more. 3 - The location and views. This place literally could not be better located. It's right next to some of the best shops, restaurants, and nightlife that midtown has to offer. Lastly, my single favorite thing about 19J, the views. You really have to tour this place and see it for yourself to understand how good it is. It's the tallest building in the area which means you have a view over the entirety of midtown. Name another apartment in the area with a 11/12th floor panoramic rooftop area. I recently moved into the 19J building and love everything about it so far. One of the things that separated 19J from other buildings besides the quality of the apartments was how great the management was. They were super accommodating and welcoming which is difficult to find in city complexes. Now let's talk apartments. I love my apartment. It's super modern with a great view of the surrounding midtown area and the perfect size for me and my Fiancé. The gym is also a huge plus. I'm an athlete so having a state of the art gym in the apartment with all the equipment I need is a huge bonus. The location of 19J couldn't be better. It's directly in the center of midtown with great restaurants and events in the surrounding area. For anyone that is looking at apartments you wont find a better quality apartment in the most ideal location in the city, you wont regret it! read more

For starters I just want to say the 19J management team is amazing! By far the most helpful, supportive, organized and professional team I have encountered! I moved back to Sacramento due to the fires in the bay and the entire move process was so smooth. I can not express enough how helpful they where with the move in! There was so many residents that helped me move my stuff in as well and provided there assistance! They even helped me install the T-Stat to my app on my phone and connect my internet to X-finity. The amenities are amazing! The view on the rooftop from the 12 and 11th floor are both perfect for a morning coffee or evening dinner. I really used the study lounge a lot! It is perfect for full time students and work from home because everything is inside the building. I love the gym, has free weights and treadmills to get that daily exercise It is a very secure building and they teamed up with Alfred! All of what they offer is perfect and so helpful during these times. I really respect how much effort and time the 19J team put to make sure tenants are well taken care of. I read the previous reviews and thought they were unfair, so I'd like to give a more accurate review of 19j. They deserve much better than 1.5 stars just because of the parking situation. People park in the residential neighborhood behind the building for free (without a K pass.) Problem solved. Now for the good stuff: I love living here! I cannot say enough good things about this place. First off, my wife and I choose a small unit on the 6th floor and we love it! It doesn't have a full kitchen, but it has a ton of storage. Our unit gets plenty of natural light and has a very nice view. For 2 minimalists, this is fantastic. Second, we truly appreciate the work put into the common areas. The community kitchen/lounge is beautifully decorated and fully equiped for dinner with friends and cooking huge meals. We have used this space several times and our friends always enjoy it. The balconies and 2 level rooftop are also excellent. There is plenty of furniture, lights were just installed, and there is a fire pit on the lounge area balcony. The coworking space is also very cool and has a great balcony. All spaces are kept impeccably clean. Last and most importantly, the management and staff are wonderful. They are all friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to help us address any concerns and answer any questions. We only pay a tiny bit more per square foot than our last midtown apartment and we get a gym, excellent community spaces, some of the best views in the area, and we are located near awesome restaurants and thrift stores. Btw, there is a year round farmers market 1 block away. If you're in the market, definitely check this place out. read more

Recently moved into 19 J and I could not be happier. Between the up keep of the building to the wonderful staff Especially Tina who has been very helpful with making the move in process as stress free as possible. The building has many beautiful outdoor seating areas and a great rooftop lounge along with other common areas for use. One room contains chairs, desks and has WiFi and another has a full kitchen for cooking meals. The building staff is constantly cleaning to help the fight against coronavirus. The gym is great with everything you will need for a quality workout. The laundry room contains plenty of washers and dryers. I would definitely recommend 19 J to anyone looking for a place to live because of the beautiful brand new building and the wonderful staff. read more

The amenities are incredible and everything is exceptionally clean. They are dog friendly and have a dog washing station for my little pup! Awesome kitchen and fire pit as well as huge laundry room, and two amazing rooftop lounges! I moved to the 19j midtown building the beginning of 2021 and I absolutely love it! I have lived in midtown for 4 years now and this is by far the best place I have ever had the pleasure of living in. The amenities are some of the best I've seen. The rooftop is breathtaking, the views are absolutely beautiful, and it is such a great area to bring your visiting guests. You can see all of midtown and then some! There is a well equipped gym with a great balcony and a common area, with a full kitchen, that is perfect for a dinner party or get together. The staff is the best, so helpful and always available when you need them. My neighbors are so nice, all of the people in the building are friendly and welcoming. Moved into a studio a few weeks ago. I've had such an amazing experience so far living at 19J. Nothing like coming home to a beautiful modern kitchen and an amazing sunset view. The staff is absolutely amazing here and will do just about anything to accommodate. Always have smiles on and are there to help with whatever you need. As much as I enjoy being in my unit, there's not much that can beat the rooftop vibes. By far the tallest building in midtown, amazing 360° view. It gets better.. there is a community room and the gym as well! Always clean, available and welcoming when you either want a good workout or just chill with some friends by the fire pit.
