They had to extend stove pipe away from the roof, reapply silicon to stove pipe which had not been property cleaned with acetone and then sealed properly, cut additional wood from the roof away from the stove pipe. The Hearth guys will also have to return to install a damper, which was not included. We paid up front; and after that the quality of service took a nose dive.

After Isaac arrived to inspect our chimney inside our fireplace, in the attic and on top of our roof, he determined everything looked securely connected with no issues. The prior review is correct. They are scammers. I contracted to have a flue extension and 15"…read moreVacu-stack cap installed. The cap alone costs $1200. The total cost including labor quoted at $2400 and I paid them half up front. They showed up with a used flue extension that was very dented up and the metal was way too thin. He said Vacu-stack no longer makes a 15" cap (which is a lie) so he made one himself. It looked like someone on drugs fabricated it out of junkyard parts. He also installed it tilted. I made them remove all their stuff and leave my property. I'm probably out $1200 because they no doubt spent my deposit on something other than my materials. I doubt they even have a business license so I probably can't complain to the chamber of commerce. Below are pics of the cap I paid for and another pic of the one he installed. They have now rebranded their business as "Chimney Pros" out of Ben Wheeler, TX probably after multiple negative reviews and lawsuits.
