The people serving were mostly friendly, the beer was very good, and the selection is always great. If you go inside and head up the stairs, the selection gets even better. My only suggestion: please consider selling mix-and-match 4-packs or single cans to go. We wanted to buy some to take with us, but we could not agree on one flavor, so we skipped buying more and just stuck with what came out of the tap. For cyclists, bridge beers and bike beers are a real thing, and it feels like there is a missed opportunity there. That said, we will absolutely be back for all the "free" stuff, the local beer, and that amazing patio. Great trail stop, great beer, and a perfect place to take a break. Keep up the Lord's work. More of an A/C type, there is seating inside with the main bar and a variety of board games to keep you entertained. Many were playing card and board games while enjoying a beer. It was close to the end of the night on a Friday and they had a guy walking around with some pizza for sale right on site. Good deal! We tried 4 different beers and they were all pretty dang tasty. My personal favorite was the Greenbelt Trail Mile #4 (Hazy IPA). It had a lot of flavor and perfect for a hazy. I'd definitely visit 515 Brewing again when I'm in the neighborhood for a tasty beverage!

It is right off the downtown trail in one of the best spots in town, which makes it a perfect stop during a ride. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a big bar, plenty of drinks to choose from, and a relaxed hangout vibe that makes it easy to stay a while. The beer is good, the food is great if you are hungry, and the wait staff has always been top notch for us. They seem to go out of their way to make people feel comfortable, whether you are stopping in for a full meal or just grabbing a beer along the trail. Prices are fair, the location is excellent, and the service has been consistently strong. I also appreciate seeing them help keep some Iowa beer history alive, especially with Peace Tree no longer operating out of Knoxville. We will definitely be back, and if you are riding through downtown Des Moines or just looking for a good brewery stop, SingleSpeed is worth checking out.

The handcrafted drinks are excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and it is hard to beat enjoying cocktails made with Iowa-made spirits. This trip I had the Revolver for $9, and Kim had the Porch Swing for $8, I believe. Both were great. The people working there are honestly fantastic. They are attentive, friendly, and somehow keep smiling even when the place is slammed and the occasional loud customer is barking at them. That takes skill, patience, and maybe a little magic. It is a great local business with a fun vibe, good drinks, fair prices, and staff who make the stop even better.
