As a result, I detailed what needed to be done via email (scaling down trees hanging over our roof to the property line, and front yard to match our neighbors), but neither were done as requested. After pointing this out, Zach immediately jumped on the defensive, saying it was performed 'as requested'. There were subsequent unprofessional emails, but lesson learned - don't give contractors the benefit of the doubt. I did get to speak with Robert, who performed the actual work. He was courteous and apologetic, asking if more needed to be done. But of course this needed to be authorized by the insidious boss from the office.
