Let me just state if you need an accessible taxi this is NOT the company to call. I asked multiple times to make sure the taxi would be wheelchair accessible and each time they confirmed that would be the case. On the morning of the scheduled picked up I asked again to confirm it would be accessible and the man on the phone said "the wheelchair folds up right?" How is that accessible? read more

I called the night before for an early morning pickup & was very specific about when I needed to be picked up. The taxi was late and I called the dispatcher who said they were "3-5 minutes away." I waited 10 minutes, and called again. He said the driver was "3-5" minutes away. I said that was what you told me 10 minutes ago and he became angry and denied it. Finally, the cab arrived 25 minutes late, and the car was a literal piece of junk, which I'm sure would not pass inspection. Every check engine light on the dashboard was lit up, it had one working headlight, the trunk would not stay open to load bags, and the driver said the breaks weren't working properly. And the credit card reader was broken. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this company. I feel for taxi drivers in this day of Uber, but experiences like this one make it clear why many people don't like traditional taxis. read more

Terrible taxi service. Honestly, if you aren't using Uber or Lyft instead of 207 you're doing yourself a major disservice. Dispatch is openly and proudly racist, and classist. If you give them an address that they think might belong to either a black person or a low income person, and expect him to treat you like you are walking garbage. This includes hanging up on you when you're trying to schedule a pick up, not sending anybody to come pick anybody up, or refusing if they see the person is disabled. Since I am one of those disabled people that they decided to leave stranded because they thought I was a potential "druggie" when needing to be picked up from health and human services. The only reason I called these guys for a scheduled ride to the airport was because my regular cabbie had retired and Uber wouldn't schedule a 4 am pickup. The last time I called was 4 years ago when they left my mother hanging on an airport ride .... But. No choice this time! Other companies not there. I called at 5 minutes prior to pickup time when driver had not showed up yet. Dispatch assured me the driver was coming for the 3:50 am pickup. The driver screeched in at 4:09 claiming that dispatch has sent him an hour away less than an hour prior. This place is deceitful, unsafe, and The driver was clearly not aware of my location with any GPS showing He was polite and strong enough to handle a rolling 60 lb bag. The credit card machine was going to take another 6 minutes the driver suggested. This company needs a fucking wake-up call. Price lower than the retired guy. But, that's really does not matter if they're late And slow. Late Late Late If you call these guys, put your call in for an hour before you need to be anywhere. Bring enough cash. read more

Drivers are always nice, but: * Dispatch is clueless (I called for a cab they told me 20 minutes, cab didn't show so I called, they told me to wait another 10-15 minutes, still no cab, called again... it took the cab over 1h to arrive, and the vehicle smelled like an ashtray). * they are always late. I booked a cab 24h in advance, and they managed to be 20 minutes late... So it adds unnecessary stress if you actually need to be somewhere on time. read more

Do not use 207 Taxi; if there were a way to indicate stars in the negative numbers, this company would get negative stars. We booked a 207 Taxi for a trip from our home to bus station for 4:15am. I called the company because the taxi did not arrive by 4:18 & was told the driver was running late but would be there shortly. 5 minutes later, i called again & was told the car would arrive shortly. at 4:30, 207 taxi dispatcher would not answer my call. Absolutely not ! The person answering the phone is the rudest lunatic ever. Very unprofessional (probably never had another job before this). He hungs up on you mid-sentence because he has another caller. I almost thought the other caller was paying more than me. We had the WORST experience with this company. Booked this ride over a month in advance and the day of we call to confirm they are still coming and they have no record of it. after confirmations were sent assuring us it was all set. They send a driver out (hour late) and it was the most ratchet van I have ever seen. We thought it was going to break down on the way, it was extremely unsafe . For the way home, again no show- call and the kid working the desk hates his life. He hung up numerous times and told me we weren't getting a ride so call someone else. I just recently used them for the first time and I chose them for the interesting choice of cars as their fleet vehicle. I love Acura RLs, but the car I rode in was literally beat to death and the interior was so dirty that I tried not to touch anything. The roof liner was almost black with soot or whatever it was. The brakes were pulsating badly when applied so that certainly added to the whole experience. The driver was very courteous and pleasant, but that can't make up for what can be described as traveling in a trash can. ** Added 10/8/2017 I was sitting at a light the other day when one of their taxis pulled up beside me. I am beyond disappointed with 207 taxi service! I called today from St. John st around 2:00 p.m., I asked the estimated wait time, they said 15 minutes or less. "Ok great, thank you"! Then while I was waiting I was able to go to a store, go get food, call and ask if they were close, "5 mins or less" & my cab never showed up! "He pulled up out front." (He did not. I was sitting just inside the front door by a window.) "You didn't come out. He waited as long as he could then he took off." I've just missed a second medical appointment because of 207 waiting as long as he could and then taking off. We are under a winter storm advisory. The wind chill is below zero and I have to stay off of my feet. If "out front" meant the curb at the end of our driveway, that is unworkable. I will never call them again. read more

Had several rides with 207 Taxi and most rides were fine. Arranged a ride the day before from hotel to PWM to catch my 6:00 am flight the next day and was told all set. Waited at hotel lobby the next morning and when past the arranged pick up time at 4:00 am with no taxi showing up, I called 207 Taxi to inquire why. I was told no one is available to pick me up. Obviously "reservation" means something else to them that regardless if you have a reservation, you will be just like anybody else who calls in for a taxi when need and there is no prearranged ride for you. Today's experience was not the greatest. We used them to and from Shaw's and just happened to get the same driver. He was nice and respectful. HOWEVER... when he sropped us off, he took the stuff out of the trunk, set it on the ground and left. This was in the road at the end of the parking spaces. SERIOUSLY? Very modern, clean, and accomodating taxi service. They say that they are the first to offer payment by credit card. Their credit card system is like a mini ATM facing the back seat and giving understandable prompts on the screen. Handy! Even though our ride was a quick one in the rain, the driver was out of his car and ready to open the passenger door. Have to love their motto, too. I agree. I want to preface this review by saying that up until this morning, this was my go-to cab company. In fact, last night I was defending 207 in the face of negative reviews. Until today, my experiences with this company had always been great. This morning was snowy. The roads were bad. People were driving slowly, and that's totally understandable. When the dispatcher said someone would pick us up in half an hour (compared to the usual 15 minutes) I was happy to wait, as I'm sure it was a busy day for them. An hour later, I called back to check on the progress. I was told it would be an additional 15-20 minutes and that someone was, in fact, on the way. After a total waiting time of an hour and a half, we called a different cab company, which sent a cab in the 15 minute time frame they quoted us. The thing that was really frustrating was that during the last half hour of waiting, we saw six 207 cabs pass by, some without anyone riding in them, and none of them stopped for us. We needed a ride that would have taken 10 minutes, so it's hard to believe they couldn't find the time to fit in this short trip. To add to this disappointment, we never got a phone call - which I'd asked them to make when they arrived - so I assume no one ever showed up. More than anything else, I'm bummed to be let down by a company I've supported for years. read more

I hate to do it but I am going to have to alter my review. Why you ask? Well...the last three times we have called for a cab we were quoted 15-20 minutes and all three times we ended up just walking or calling another cab company because more than 30 minutes had passed with no cab arrival from 207 Taxi. They either need to expand their fleet or quote more accurate times. Once they do show up they are great, it's just getting them to show up that is proving to be the issue. read more

I was in Maine for a week and have nothing bad to say about the 207 taxi drivers. On several occasions I made reservations for pickups and the drivers were always early, and they all accepted credit cards with terminals built into the taxi itself. About 4 of the 8 times I used them in October, 2012, I did not have advance notification. They always showed up within 15 minutes, however. Granted, in this world of instant gratification, 5 minutes would have been nice, but fantasy land doesn't exist. Even better was that my hotel had discount coupons (20%) for the fare. Best cab company in Portland and beyond. I know there can be issues with dispatch at times but from both sides this is the best company. As a bar manager, they have graciously and professionally taken home customers who have had 'one to many' or take the turn to 'tired town' quickly. As a customer they continue to be top notch. I will never use another company in Portland. The ability to pay with a card is awesome as well as having comfortable cabs (used Acuras mostly) that are well maintained and well driven. Joe comes to mind as an outstanding driver I've had multiple times. They seem to keep putting more cabs on the road and that can only mean lower wait times, etc. For those with negative experiences please keep giving them a try. I would give ZERO stars if this would let me! I used this service from the Amtrak station coming and going. 2 different drivers, same horrible experience. Filthy cars on top of very aggressive/impatient driving. Lack of help with luggage...driver sitting in van not unlocking doors or even coming out to help. The other night, one of their drivers was driving up and down the street shining a flashlight in windows, including at my friend's house. So creepy! We left a comment on their Facebook page letting them know what was going on, and they attacked us and then blocked us. Terrible customer service.
