A hidden Gem! As I pulled up to the establishment, you can almost taste the BBQ coming out of the smoke towers! BBQ it is! I walked in to a very clean place. The restaurant was decorated with UAW wheels, it felt good. I was greeted by the waitstaff and bartender. I sat at the bar and my order was taken immediately. Bartender was great! I ordered the brisket sandwich, it was amazing. The brisket melted it your mouth, very tender. After my meal the owner came out and greeted me, made me few very welcomed. After my meal, I ordered 2 pizzas to go for the rest of the crew that missed out! The bottom of the pizza tasted like a thin crust pizza, it was very crunchy! The the dough was on top of that and has a sweet flavor, they do not skimp on the toppings! It was a very good pizza, unlike something I never had before. If you ever find yourself in or around Onaway, MI, you have to stop in to the 211. It is a local's local place. The service is great, the menu is varied enough that everyone can find something, including a nice salad bar. I have to call out the pizza, it's great. You will always find the place full of locals and groups of friends hanging out at the bar and having dinner. You might even catch some live music on the right night. Went in based on a local telling us they had good food which the food was decent nothing horrible and nothing to brag about food gets about 3 stars the only problem I had was that as soon as we were seated we got ignored and while the waitress made it clear to check on other tables even a table that was being super loud and people were visibly drunk. As the only person of color in the restaurant I pretty much connected the dots and figured out I was not welcome there. Waitress was constantly checking on other tables while she only came to our table 5 times that's including her taking our order, brining the food, and us asking for the check. Keep in mind the place wasn't busy at all and she only had to wait 3 other tables. She got my girlfriends order wrong and didn't even introduce herself when she first came to the table. This was our 5th New Years Eve spent here. Food has always been great. We had the prime rib special. Mine was done perfectly. Portions of sides are average. Waitstaff very friendly. Entertainment is provided by Toast and Jam. Very friendly atmosphere, customers sing along. Family's are usually there for an early dinner then as it gets later people come and stay for the entertainment. Food is as always Amazing. Everyone is always friendly & great menu choices w/o breaking the bank.

I fully understand and appreciate that this restaurant is abiding by all of the state's restrictions due to the pandemic. But being told if I don't like where we were being seated I could leave is unacceptable. We had reservations for 2 at 8pm, when we arrived we were greeted and immediately given the table for 6 that backs up to the entrance door. It was awkwardly situated as the door opened up into 2 of its seats. I asked if we could be seated at a table that had just been cleaned. I was told no that it was already taken. Mind you no one was waiting for a table. Then I saw a couple leaving from a table that sat 4. I then asked if we could sit there. Again, I was told that table was taken and if I didn't like it I could leave. The hostess then asked the 6 people who had just walked in and were huddling by the door, not more than 2 feet away from where we suppose to sit/eat, if they had a reservation. She then said they would be seated in the corner. Oddly enough they were not seated at either of the two tables I had asked about and there was no one else waiting for a table. I didn't appreciate being belittled by the hostess in front of other customers or being told if I didn't like it I could leave. read more
