12€ for bacon cheeseburger, fries and coke in central Paris is quite reasonable. Especially in the area which is full of restaurants serving meals starting at 50 Euros... Burger was quite good, well cooked and nicely toasted bun. However, it did not have enough taste in it thus something was missing. Perhaps more powerful sauce or jalapenos would improve it? Fries had better than average taste but were unfortunately too soft. Burger & fries combo was enough for me, perhaps not for a hugely hungry teenager but I would say big enough for most. Small place but quite many seats including few outside. Around 8pm on Thursday the place was maybe half full. Would I return? Why not. I would give it 3.5 stars is possible so not the best place but does its main job i.e. fills the stomach! read more

5 Guys had better pray this place does not come to the U.S. For those of us true red meat burger lovers who keep a top 5 best burger list in mind- this is a must. I had no plans on getting a burger in Paris. However one cold afternoon my sister and I wanted something warm and American. This place hit the spot. Dine in or carry out. The staff was friendly, spoke English, and the food was spot on. We both had "Greedy Meals" minus dessert. We did single patty bacon cheeseburgers with fries and a drink. (12oz can) The space is pretty small, but functional and the restaurant has an American/NYC theme. As I alluded to before, the food was GOOD. Burger was perfectly cooked (not too done) and the fries were perfect. They do a more steak style cut of fry, which I LOVE when executed properly. We both agreed it was an excellent meal, and if we were Americans living in Paris this would be our go to spot for some good American artery clogging comfort. read more

The place is super cute, NYC-themed, as are the tote bags and the menu. The waiters / cooks are super nice, the playlist is as pop as you can get, and everything is made to order when you choose your (awesomely cheap) menu : 14€ for a burger + fries + a drink + a cookie/muffin, only 13€ if you're a student / it's a take-away. I honestly had a blast, and I recommend this place both for a quick lunch or a dirty dinner with your friends, as long as they are hungry. So I would have loved to add a 5-star place to my list. Unfortunately, the food was not as good as it could - fries were perfect, but the burger was a little bland (not enough salt, pepper and sauce I think) and the desserts were not great. Too bad, but I'll pop up at some point to see whether they have improved, because 231 East St is definitely worth it. read more

The front door says 11pm. The website says 12:30am. In any case, we walked in at 10pm and were told that they had already started cleaning. Her response to "it says you close at 11pm" was "yeah". I'll change my rating if I visit again and the food is OK. read more

First off, the staff is very nice and very accommodating. This was my only experience there so your experience may differ. I went here because my phone died and I had to get food before every place in the area closed (not because I wanted a burger). With that said, their burger is not bad, but unless you're actively seeking out a burger in Paris burger because you're J. Wellington Wimpy ("Wimpy" from Popeye) or you're on quest to have a burger in every city you visit, Paris will--I repeat WILL-- disappoint you. With that said, I haven't eaten at every burger place in Paris, but I can say with some confidence that if this place is ranked as one of the higher ones then you will likely feel a bit disappointed. If you want truly extraordinary burgers, then you'll likely want to stick with the US, Japan, Korea. Outside of these countries burgers are hit and miss. read more

hmm... i'm somewhat surprised by the 5 star reviews. then again not really because given the strategic placement of 231 east street (next to the saint lazare train station), i imagine it is visited by many enthusiastic travelers with rose-tinted parisian glasses on. it is a decent "traditional" burger and decent fries. do not try the cronut. it is hard. just go to a boulangerie and buy a croissant and cut it into a circle shape. the actual best burger in paris is at big fernand (experience local flavors, fresh ingredients, quick execution, homemade sauces, seasoned fries etc). also, no seating for a group of 4, only bars or tables for 2. read more

Nice burgers for a good price. They have a greedy pack for 12 euros. If you are a big eater you should order a larger meal, because this won't satiate you. I was satiated though! After being away from home (US) for 8 days this was a little taste of home but in a different version. The bread and burger had this soft texture that melted in your mouth. Reminded me of an old drive in diner we have in socal. You cant get that taste really anymore but this did it. Very good if you miss American food. Ketchup tasted good too, other places it was much sweeter than I am use to. read more

Great burgers by the train station. Choose how cooked your meat is, what vegetables and which sauce you fancy and you're good to go. There is a small terrace so you can enjoy the sun during the summer but since it's by the road, it ain't as quiet as you'd want it to be. Takeaway available. read more

This is nothing special. It's a chain and the meat is clearly industrial and frozen. It's fast food with a higher price tag. The salad was just iceberg with some tomatoes and onions. No taste to it. If you're in the area and want to eat a burger quickly you're better off at McDonald's, BK, or Quick. It'll be a bit cheaper and at least those places acknowledge the industrial nature of their food. read more
