Ask the Community - 247Garden

Are they open to public? Does is have a store front? I did not see any photos of inside.

Hi Lixo, this is 247Garden. Yes, we are open to the public. However, we are just a warehouse, not a retail store front. You can check out our website www.247garden.com to see our full catalogs and if you like, you can place orders on our website for…

Be careful when doing business with The Standard Design Group…read more In 2023, my husband paid The Standard Design Group a $15,000 deposit under a contract for the company to grow 60 ficus hedges for our future landscaping project. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we became unable to move forward with the planting. When I first contacted Chriss, he told me we could use our deposit as store credit toward other materials or installation. After that, however, months of text messages went largely unanswered, and it became nearly impossible to get a response. It wasn't until I reached out through The Standard Design Group's Instagram account that Chriss became "responsiv again, telling us he would discuss the matter with the Board. After that, communication once again came to a standstill. When we ultimately requested a refund, we were told our only option was to pay the remaining balance of the contract and take delivery of hedges we can no longer use. Rather than working with us to find a reasonable solution or putting us in touch with management, we were repeatedly directed to a generic company email address. After reviewing our contract, we have serious concerns about the company's position. The agreement contains a cancellation provision referencing a 15% cancellation/restocking fee, yet the company is attempting to retain our entire $15,000 deposit, claiming that too much time has passed and that they have cared for the trees during that time. While we understand there were costs associated with growing and maintaining the hedges, that is the very business they are in. Larger hedges are substantially more valuable than smaller ones. If these hedges are still in their possession, they are worth significantly more today than they were when we paid our deposit in 2023. If they have already been sold, then they have recovered value from the same inventory while still attempting to retain our entire deposit. Despite this, we have never been provided with any explanation or documentation showing why the company believes it is entitled to keep the full $15,000 despite the cancellation language in its own contract. We have spent months trying to resolve this matter professionally and in good faith but have been met with poor communication, broken promises, and no meaningful effort to reach a fair resolution. As a result, we will be filing formal complaints with the California Attorney General, the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, the California Contractors State License Board (if applicable), the Federal Trade Commission, and any other appropriate regulatory agencies. We will also be pursuing all legal remedies available to recover our funds. We expected professionalism, transparency, and customer service from a company handling a project of this size. Instead, we've experienced the exact opposite. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend doing business with The Standard Design Group. Before signing a contract or paying a substantial deposit, I strongly encourage prospective customers to read reviews across all platforms. We are not the only customers who have raised concerns about this company's communication and customer service, and Chriss's name appears repeatedly in many of those reviews. Buyer beware.

Very few employees speak Spanish, which makes communication difficult for many customers. It is important to have staff who can assist customers in both English and Spanish. In addition, getting help from an employee takes an extremely long time. During my visit, I asked a cashier to hold an item for me while I continued shopping and planned to purchase it. Later, I discovered that the item had been sold to someone else. I found this very frustrating and unprofessional. What was even more disappointing was that the manager did not seem concerned about resolving the situation or addressing my complaint. I do not enjoy shopping here because of the poor customer service. Many of my construction employees and coworkers have shared similar experiences and have told me they avoid this store because of the service. Management and ownership should understand that customer service is just as important as pricing. If customers do not feel valued and respected, they will choose to spend their money elsewhere.

Well now it's the CW again, and from the looks of it not much has changed. Still the same long walks down the hallways in relative quiet, unless you are rolling the panel truck like I was. Friendly customer service through the phone when I asked about availability/quantity of corrugated roofing panels. Then at the store the staff would help find the appropriate wood screws. Whereas in the past I remembered older folks staffing the store, now it's mostly younger guys and gals though knowledgeable all the same. Can't put my finger on it, but it does feels different from a Home Depot but in a good way.
